I have to say, I never found them particularly funny then, and still don't now, after seeing this. Some bits were funny, but I never really understood why hey were considered so good at the time. In this skit, I find objectionable their affectation of speech which they used when taking the piss out of the working class and "common oykes" as they would see it. Typical public school boys trying to be rebellious.

The average Judean only spoke Aramaic and would refer to him as Yeshua ben Yosef (Joshua son of Joseph). Yeshua, his real name, as the son of a carpenter would not be able to speak Greek and if approached by someone calling him Jesus would not know who they were addressing.
