Coming down from south carolina in two weeks with my kayak to fish the bridges, maybe some flats. Any info on whats best to fish for this time of year? Any day on the water is better than work but wouls love to maybe get pointed in the right direction? Only come down 2 or 3 times a year
@fishingwithcritter4 күн бұрын
Awesome glad you can make it to our wonderful state. This time of year you can get alot of different fish. On the flats you’re looking for mangrove lines or deep holes and ledges. Also any structure like bridges or rock jetties are really good. I use live shrimp or mullet and for artificial my go to is the gulp shrimp 3 inch new penny color with a 1/16 oz chartreuse jig head with 15lb leader. You can go heavier on the leader if the water clarity is bad. Weekdays are always better bc of less traffic and shoreline fishermen. Great place to start is Haulover canal in Titusville. It offers deep water structure and surrounding flats to fish. Good luck and tight lines. Maybe I’ll see you out there

@fishingwithcritter8 ай бұрын
I’ve eaten some out of certain areas and was great but def won’t keep any near the port or the main causeway in Titusville. There is just for sport.
@jsupp22407 ай бұрын
Why not? Just relocated back to FL. I would think the area near ports or inlet would be clean since there is flow from the ocean.
@fishingwithcritter7 ай бұрын
@@jsupp2240 Titusville has had septic issues for years now. It’s getting better but some people don’t trust it. And I’ll eat out of the port but sometimes a little cautious in certain areas due to oil and fuel in the water

@@fishingwithcritter So there is an underwater "canal" on the South of Garden Street bridge (runs East to West) that huge reds used to eat in at night. Throw a finger mullet and sit and wait. Scottsmoor docks held lots of trout. Rinker canal held almost anything you could think of. The 408 bridge at the port had massive trout and snook.
@fishingwithcritter10 ай бұрын
Yeah I’ve caught many huge black drum from that “canal” and some good sized mangos

Hey Critter, taking my son out of Marina Park and headed north on the river this weekend. Any tips on where to focus up that way to catch drum, trout, snook, flounder, etc? Going out in my mud boat so can pretty much go anwhere.
@fishingwithcritter11 ай бұрын
Good drum and mangrove snapper fishing on the bridge structure and railroad bridge to the north. Trout you will usually find along the shores in about 2 ft of water. Drum and snapper fish bottom with shrimp and trout use a popping cork with gulp shrimp or live. Hope you guys catch some. Tight lines
