fridays forecast was totally off haha, it was never calm in the early morning either. the big trout were aggressive in the early am and shut off as soon as the blue bird skies came

@rbuzaki ya I was expecting it to be really foggy, but ended up not seeing any fog. I had the opposite thing happen....I had better luck once the sun and blue sky came out. I couldn't even get a hit in the morning 😆 Found them out of the wind ...warming up in a shallow mud cove.

@@ThumprFishing usually the big trout (26"+) are very finicky when it comes to eating. Smaller ones are a bit more generous when it comes to biting..reds usually dont matter too much

One time me and my cousin were fishing in Ballard park for 3 hours with live shrimp zero bites, 2 guys show up with live shrimp and casted exactly where I was fishing and caught a nice 20 inch red( back in 2018 when you can keep them) lol. So sometimes it’s really just luck in my opinion. It definitely feels depressing though 😂.

@jorgeportillo4061 oh ya 100% some days it's just not your day. I went kayak fishing today, and the day started off that way. My buddy was on fish after fish. I couldn't even get a bite. But I kept grinding, and all of a sudden, the bite was on. That video will be this weekend. Tight lines.

i was at that trail you biked last weekend saw a nice probably about 20" red cruising along the shore tried throwing a ned shrimp at it but buddy didn't want anything to do with it lol

When I heard you all on fish after fishing almost 4 hours of nothing for me.....(just one of those days 😆 ) I had to come back and see what is up...do I just suck at fishing today, or do these guys have magic baits? lol. I didn't want to get to close and blow up your catches. But next time, say hi, and I'll definitely swing by. I did well.the next day from shore in this video is throwing a slam shady colored kicker crab. Thanks for the intel and comment. Hope to see ya on the water again sometime. White paddle tail huh, thanks for info. That's always a solid option. I'm not sure why I didn't toss one around. I did toss out a slam shady color kicker crab in this video and it worked. Thumpr, on my Eddie creek trip it was the same with the little sheepshead but when you breakout the ultra light it's fun fishing 🎣. Also like you mentioned the lagoon water level is quite low. Like it all.

I went 2 weekends ago and had to drag the kayak at least a 100yds at one of the launches I normally use. Did find a hole up a tidal creek that was holding a bug school of specks so that was still fun

They help me avoid tying a loop knot in some bigger fish situations ....with a loop knot as well....you can get some really good movement...These TexasEye allow for great movement, especially when the fish are cold and picky.🙂 I plan to get more and use them in a few other baits as well. 😁

They are not letting water out anywhere. Another person mentioned lack of rain and the wind moving the water around. You will also see small differences in height with the moon phases it will raise and lower the water levels a little bit. When you have really low tides and minor high tides more water can dump out and when you have really high tides and high low tides the water backs up. The water levels we are seeing last year and this year are more normal to the winter levels that we used to have compared to what we have been seeing since the Lagoon took a dump the last 5-10 years. These low levels and cold water are what help the lagoon clear up from the summer algae blooms, which in return means healthy grass. The grass dying back and being shorter during the winter is also normal. Just so you know it can get lower. We haven't even seen negative levels yet on the gauge in Haulover, which has happened in the past.

You are right when it's cold or low tide the deep edge of the grass holds lots of short trout but a nice piece of lady fish sitting on the bottom in the sand next to the grass will get hit by something big attracted to the area by all the shorts so I'm fishing 2 rods in that situation

Tough day for ya. Similar to mine on Wednesday up in Edgewater. I fished Sykes Creek last December and caught some trout, but nothing to brag about. I can’t remember if there was lots of grass around there or sandy bottom?? Edgewater as you just experienced is sand bottoms and other reports (Wednesday) south in the lagoon had great luck catching reds in the thick grass areas and mud bottoms. Kind of makes sense that the fish moved to these warmer areas. Anyway, great content as always. Peace!

@FloridaEastCoastFishing the areas i fished seemed to be more muddy bottom. Not much grass. Then again I'm used to fishing merrit island wildlife refuge, that has lots of grass. It looks super good here, but that cild weather definitely has the fish grouped up. If you don't find them, it's going to be slow fishing

@@TheCookieman24 using a knotless net or rubber net like mine also helps. 👍 Im sure you noticed my gloves? They stay pretty damp after they have been in the water. Guessing you're assuming my gloves are dry? But it is important to make sure they are 👍 They may not look it, but it's definitely not dry. You can see me rinsing my hands a few times. Those gloves definitely don't dry that fast, 😂 But I'm sure the trout appreciates your concern 😉 Happy Thanksgiving 😊
