I have Irish ancestors. I played this to her because it had such a deep resonance in my soul, and my friend she asked if I had written this song. Lisa you use words like I do, and it sings in my own heart. I cannot sing at all though, so I was so pleased to find your voice. Beautiful.

I was in standing for this gig, 1st gig to see an act and worth it massive. Bossanova was the first album that introduced me to the pixies and 3 years later dragged me to this gig 😭

Utterly dreadful! I have no problem with New Order, but let’s face it, Barney is hopeless at singing Ian Curtis’s songs, he is not a baritone, which it does need to be, unless you totally reinterpret the music. At which point I would argue that Hooky needs to just do JD stuff and possibly the first NO album and Barney and Morris and Gillian stick to NO stuff.

@@transeuropa just sounds badly out of tune to me, without the real emotional weight and register of Curtis’ voice. Curtis had a crooning voice, a la Sinatra, Dean Martin etc. Barney’s voice is weak. Sounds like an average covers band.

I'm a Halifax lad and this was my first gig at the Piece Hall, and also my first time seeing the Strangers. It is probably the best gig I have ever been too. What a great night.
