There is on KZbin a wonderful British Pathe film of this very boat in 1956. The postman was Alexander John Macfarlane.

Nope. Sorry. Is an immense place and will be again one day. But for now: ruined by tourists. In any event, it's not as good a drive as the Icefield Parkway, the Canadian road through the Rockies from calgary to Jasper. Now that is something else.

I was fortunate enough to visit the Wallace Monument ten years ago. It was truly an amazing experience, especially with the weather being fine, the views were spectacular. It’s as if you can feel the power and mystique of Sir William Wallace.
