Elvis movies are just fun to watch because Elvis is fun to watch. If you're looking for Lawrence of Arabia, you won't find it. Some films are better than others but if you're a fan, it won't matter..

Wow! What a voice! Great reaction today, Nick. Thank you 😊 If you are looking into the early 60s, you should check out the song "Theres Always Me." It's my favourite of all. My Top ten changes regularly, but this one is firmly at no.1 for me.

I think his voice was its best in the 60’s and early 70’s or just anytime he opened his mouth to sing. I loved this song! And Nick its1 ox to have a man crush on Elvis it doesn’t affect your masculinity at all. It means you have good taste in music and your sensitive good qualities in a man. You are a lovely strong man don’t let anyone tell you different. TCB God bless you, Connie from the USA🎶

The first films I saw at the Cinema was a double bill of GI Blues & Blue Hawaii in the 70s. I've always loved both. Two great soundtracks. Maybe as someone who wanted to be an actor, these were a bit light. Little did he know what lay ahead. Lovely song
@iwillbetrue2023Күн бұрын
I agree with Elvis that this soundtrack was not upto the mark!! Just three weeks before he recorded this, he recorded 'Elvis Is Back' - one of the best albums ever. Elvis is Back didn't do very well, while G. I. Blues soundtrack topped the charts. Ah well. This kickstarted years of mediocre soundtracks that were not good enough for Elvis.

Thank you muchly, Nick. Nothing wrong with Elvis' movies....he was brilliant in them, and they were ALL box office hits. Not even the top stars today can lay claim to that. There are many wonderful songs scattered throughout all Elvis' movies. This is one of my many favorites....Elvis' voice is pure velvet magic ✨ 💯⚡❤️

Once again, a fine, impressive response and reaction to this genius of an artist. Of an entertainer, a beautiful soul. And I include you in that view. You possess a wonderful, kind, tender, loving, patient, introspective human being. A man that God created, as he has every single one of us. Thank you, Bless you. Keep the great work up! See you next time. And God speed🕊️

Pocket Full of Rainbows is also one that I have always loved. The movie is cute and very entertaining with a few good soundtracks. Elvis, as always, is gorgeous I Must have seen this one at least 10 times or more through the years, and being able to watch this on TV pre-internet used to be such a treat, as all we had were these occasional films and albums, unlike today when we can get our Elvis fix daily on youtube etc

Beautiful song in the doo-wop style. The vocal combination Elvis-Jordanaires is superb. You're right, explore the 60s of Elvis, they are rich in all genres, gospels, ballads, mid-tempo rock, and all the voices of Elvis. I hope you had a sweet day after listening to this candy.

Don't feel bad about repeating yourself, i do it all the time commenting on the same Elvis songs. Elvis didn't like this movie? That is news to me, never knew that. I always thought it was one of his better ones, certainly successful at the box office. Thanks for the info. Many people say Elvis' voice was at his peak in the early 60s. Certainly was the smoothest, as shown here. Personally, I prefer his late 60s/70s tone. It wasn't quite as buttery smooth as displayed here, but gained a depth and richness that I love. You are not the only one questioning your masculinity: Elvis' 60's voice has a smoothness that can often bring me to tears without realizing it ("Please don't stop loving me"). Just between us, LOL. PS: "Please don't stop loving me" should go on your review list!! There is a movie clip of Elvis singing it to Donna Douglas (Ellie May from the Beverly Hillbillies) and a longer studio version. Guaranteed to tug at your heart strings.
@ElvistaКүн бұрын
Absolutely agree re: Elvis singing 'Please Don't Stop Loving Me'....soul-floating, out of body stuff. Also agree that Elvis did not "hate" all his movies....that's misinformation some fans get confused about. He liked many of them....and yes, all of them were box office hits! Just amazing accomplishment, tbh.

Hi Nick, thanks for another Elvis review. If you listen to his studio out takes Elvis seems to refer to that change in the music as "the modulation" and I guess if it's good enough for Elvis it's good enough for the rest of mankind.
@Libby-qk9jrКүн бұрын
Smooth, yes that's the word. I've always liked Elvis' movies, even the "bad" ones. I'm a movie buff and I believe Elvis had solid talent as an actor. The early films, Love Me Tender, Flaming Star, Wild in the Country, Loving You, Jailhouse Rock, were all dramas and were great. I understand how Elvis felt the movies after coming out of the army were less than fulfilling. He even said in an interview he would get physically sick over some of them. Well, then why not do something about it? I've loved Elvis more than three-quarters of my life. But he didn't seem to be in control of his own life. He let other people make the decisions, then suffered because of them. I can't pretend to understand his choices, but clearly, he wasn't happy with some of those choices. He needed a new manager, a good manager. He needed to speak his mind. To make decisions for himself, to make himself happy. I don't mean to be disrespectful in any way, but I think his father had a lot to do with it too. He was very, very poor. And once you have money and are living the good life, fear of being poor again can make you wary of change. I believe Elvis' father may have pushed Elvis in certain directions just because of the money. Elvis obviously didn't want to make the song-filled musicals, he didn't want to perform countless shows in Vegas, or tour incessantly. Many, many times in interviews he said he wanted to tour world-wide. I think the satellite show in Hawaii was the Colonel's way of placating Elvis' desire to travel. But Elvis never thought ahead, to the future. He needed good management, career and financial. He had a God-given talent, there's no question about that. But he lacked the strength and iron will to endure in an industry hellbent on destroying you. I've said this before and I'll say it again, his talent was one in a million. Never to be duplicated or imitated.
@suspiciousminds1750Күн бұрын
Yes, I agree. Parker was a promoter, only concerned with getting every dollar he could from The King. A manager would have been more concerned about his career.

This song by anyone else would be a total flop, but by Elvis it is beautiful. Hey, men don't lose their masculinity for swooning over Elvis. Everyone with a heart who REALLY listens to him swoons. Movies: Blue Hawaii is great for the music. Follow That Dream is great for pure entertainment value. Something good to be found in just about all the movies.

Hi Nick, if you notice Elvis' right hand is very swollen as he strums the guitar, he had been playing around with karate, chopping blocks on set and hit one wrong,busting his hand..apparantly they tried everything to cover it up but failed to do so, and its even visable on the back of the album cover
@jjbud3124Күн бұрын
I didn't know that. I was wondering why he was fake playing. It sure is noticeable when pointed out.
