I think it probably would. I would also check out the 'cube' series amps from Roland which would also probably work (though may not get as loud). Good luck!

What is the phase button, what is the pad button.
@BlueSkyGuitarАй бұрын
Phase - kind of a wonky concept. As I understand it - when different soundwaves sent from (instruments, speakers) or received by (mics) multiple sources effectively cancel each other out or add to each other's strength. This can distort what is heard in the mix by strengthening / weakening certain frequencies. So if your EQ is not sounding quite right, or if you have a weird feedback you might try the phase button. Never really used it myself - I found volume levels on instruments / the amp plus the EQ could solve a lot of those same issues. Pad - reduces the volume input by 10db for a really hot mic or instrument. In the case of an instrument you'd want to turn the volume on the instrument down before trying the pad. In the case of a mic, you might turn the volume down on the amp (if it's turned up a lot) before you used the pad. Hope this helps.

NIce work as usual Nick!🤙 I was wondering, are all of your guitars Taylors?
@BlueSkyGuitar4 ай бұрын
Much appreciated, Nate 🙏 At the moment, all the guitars say Taylor on them. They handle the alternate tunings very well. Maybe one day I'll find an 0-15 from the 60's at a yard sale for $80 (happened to a friend in Kona) and use it to sit on the porch and play slack key. You never know. 😀

@@BlueSkyGuitar I had a '53 Martin 0-15 that was gifted to me by a friend who was terminally ill. I had that guitar for 15 years after he passed. Subsequently, I gave the guitar to his sister, whose children played the guitar. I thought it was appropriate that the instrument was returned to the family. It was a great little guitar!

That sounds like a great way to pass on the guitar. Yeah, there's something special about those vintage small body Martins.

Much appreciated. Update - to my knowledge, Taylor is only doing the 'better' beveled armrest on the Academy and Builder's Edition models these days. The 'regular' (non-Builder's Edition) 800/900 series would have radiused armrests that aren't quite as dramatic as the beveled. They're still nice guitars though.

"Dust Yourself Off" is a really beautiful track. Your guitar and your playing sounds very good. Do you still use / like the Shure KSM141 microphones? I've spent the last couple years learning slack key and I'm excited to start my own recording journey.
@BlueSkyGuitar8 ай бұрын
Much appreciated @CalmedByNature. I don't use the KSM 141s anymore, but listening back I do like the sound still. The 141's are great mics. Good luck on your journey!

@@BlueSkyGuitar Thanks! Just out of curiosity, what are you using now?
@BlueSkyGuitar8 ай бұрын
Right now, on my mic stand is a Neumann TLM102 which I've used quite a bit over the years. It's a well-known mic. I'll give you a twofer, since you like the 141 sound: I think the Telefunken M60 is in the same ballpark. It's a little different from the 141, but I've made some nice recordings with it as well. I've been recording in mono so I just have the one, but I think it would make a nice pair. The M60 might be considered under the radar by some.

@@BlueSkyGuitar Thanks for sharing. I'll have to do some more research though I'll likely start with something on the lower end just to practice recording and getting my room properly treated. Do you release your music on streaming platforms as well as on youtube?
@BlueSkyGuitar8 ай бұрын
@CalmedByNature I do plan to explore some streaming options - if you have any recommendations you find, please let me know. Otherwise, KZbin has been keeping me busy. Regards microphones, I also use a Line Audio CM-4 which is an under the radar budget mic. I have at least several recordings I've done with it posted already. Over the years I've ordered these mics from No Hype Audio - they're perpetually on a waitlist but if you e-mail them and say you want to order one I've never had to wait too long to receive it in the mail. You can find other info / reviews and sellers online as well.

I’m just getting started making KZbin videos and I would like to use the Edina for audio and an iPad for the video. Any suggestions for getting me set up with gear? Total beginner could use your help. Thanks.
@BlueSkyGuitar Жыл бұрын
You'll need an interface from mic to iPad - I've used the Apogee ONE for years - recently discontinued but available used, there's also the Boom or whatever the new one is called. Their support team is good. Also, iRig makes some okay interfaces though I haven't used their latest models. Stock camera app is good, though I've tried out Dolby also which seems okay... but I just use the stock iOS camera. Keep your setup simple. Good luck!

Esse tipo de amplificador, pode usar violao corda de nylon?
@BlueSkyGuitar Жыл бұрын
Yes, as long as the nylon has a pick up (or you mic it)... in fact, I have a video on my other channel playing a nylon string guitar through this amp. It's called "Slack Key Guitar Improv on a Taylor 414ce-NR (Nylon) through a Fishman Loudbox Artist" - you can search for that and it should pop up. Have a great day!
