I’m getting my a7r5 today, but I’m here to say i love Iceland and thank you for sharing your thoughts, jealous of you 😅

a7rv is iso-invariant. So theoretically, if you shoot at first base at ISO 320, you can bump up the exposure in post-processing to reduce noise problems and preserve highlights. just a thought.

When it comes to the matte box, I've never needed one until recently. I've been using a filter on my lens that blocked my lens hood from working. Over time I noticed some glare. I decided if I was going to invest in a Matte box, I had to be able to control an ND as well as protect my glass. After a lot of research, I went with the Nisi C5 kit. This box works well for me so far. I don't notice any color shifts or X pattern with the VND and I can easily control it with a dial.

an Icelander who lives in Iceland saying a drone was one of his worst investments is pretty wild for me. Iceland was the reason I bought a drone for myself.

I guess it depends on the kind of videography you do(and perhaps how restrictive the laws are in your area,) but I don't get not using the drone. It's such a versatile tool, I feel like we use ours on every other project.

I have to disagree on the Drone, having those amazing high quality aerial shots ads such a great atmosphere to videos. That scales your brand and attracts more customers.

A lot of ''content creators'' to make their video look semi cinematic is using fake black bars on top and bottom of the video. This causes material shot in 4:2, 3:2 or the more popular 16:9 to look like 21:9. Many people take the easy way and put fake black bars on non-native 21:9 material. This means that on a 21:9 screen, instead of having a full screen, viewers get a small video in the center of the screen with a black frame around the image. Where here, the footage has been rendered as 21:9, which means that I can watch it filling the screen, users with 16:9 panels will still have the material as if these bars were added. Its a proper way basically. Generally speaking, I personally consider fake cine bars to be disrespectful to the viewer. If you want the material shot in non-native 21:9 to look like one, the sequence in the editing program should be set and rendered in this aspect ratio. This not only gives the effect you want to achieve, but does not deprive wide screen users from enjoying the full screen option. @@Antonio.Estrada

NAS has two main weakness - power supply and RAID system. NAS power supply has no near reliability of server power supply and If NAS power supply will fail - ALL your data will be lost. Besides if you are using RAID - this will cost you A LOT to get your data back. RAID system. There are hardware, host and software types of RAID. Hardware RAID uses special processor with it's own RAM and battery and costs around 300-400 euro (cheapest one) - only controller, not entire computer/NAS. Host RAID uses simple controller with no buffer RAM, no battery, and all computation made by central processor and software drivers. So - if OS fail and system hangs - all data in buffer will be lost. I would not recommend it to anyone to use NAS especially in RAID 5, or RAID 0 configuration to store all projects data. It is really not safe. Don't forget to use UPS!
