FWA the metal you talk about at 36:25 is just yellow chromated steel. Back in the days they used chrome-6 to make a very durable anti corrosion surfacetreatment. You also find this in transistor radio's and clocks from the '60s and '70s. Why they have stopped this excellent method, you have to ask Erin Brockovich.

Was listening to vintage Hawaiian music two days ago, (always around this time of year for some reason), then you show up with this. Love steel guitar. Another pinball I've never seen but would love to have for an imaginary tiki bar. And yes, shame about the glass. The theme is awesome. PS; surely it wasn't originally white was it? I could see tan or something tropical being used. Cheers. 👍👍
@LyonsArcade9 сағат бұрын
It originally was very similar to the colors and art that are on it now, believe it or not.

@@LyonsArcade White. Maybe they were trying to make it bright to get players attention and spend money? Or keep it inline with other pinball themes? It works. PS; fascinating method of saving back glass you used. Cheers again.

One thing I have learned the years. If you ever not sure how dis-assemble and re-assemble these, well, assemblies. Take a picture with your phone. It seems really simplistic, but even with 30 years experience, it has saved my bacon more than once.

Hey Ron , I know it’s probably too late but I have a set of Gottlieb legs that someone had put on a Bally Six Million Dollar Man I restored last year . If you want I could ship them down . They are in much better shape than those but could use some paint .

Hey Ronnie!! My wife was watching this video with me... we were watching the part with you testing the flippers and switching back and forth from left to right. She says... Some light oil on the shafts of the snowshoes also helps them go up and down smoothly as they travel across the rivets. This is a great old Gottlieb game from when they ruled the pinball world. Nice work on that beat up backglass too.

Great start Ron. I had a back glass on a 1940 Roxy machine in about that same shape. I just clear coated it like you do and it hung on to the remaining paint well. My Roxy is a little bit of pinball history and I don't mind it being imperfect. It's 85 years old and should look like an 85 year old person with lots of character on it's face. Cheers from Canada!

36:28 From what I can see that looks like cadmium plating, just be careful if it does corrode and become a bit white and furry, time to look at specific cleaning advice then as the crystalline dust is very toxic if inhaled..

Really enjoy watching your content. I had a Beast Busters and Desert Tank arcades years ago and never could get the Desert Tank to work seeing how I didn't receive the cord to connect it to the wide screen monitor. My Beast Busters worked flawless till we were about to move. I think daughter touched and turned the knobs on it cause she would always play inside the cabinet. Lol😂 That's why I always kept it unplugged. It would work and have sound, but only a black screen. Wish I still had them, cause I knew they would be a easy fix for sure. I ended up selling both arcades for $60 to just get them out of the home we were moving from. 😢

This one won't really look any better than it is now, you'd have to buy a new glass to make it really nice again. It does go up to 1000 points, , there is a light that comes on with a '1' behind it believe it not. It just doesn't go up to 2000 points :)
