I've just changed my intercooler hose suspecting it has an air leak. In the video if you had took off the jubilee clip and moved the hose around at the top end you would of seen a split in the pipe. That would explain the oil around the throttle body. Only cost £30 to replace it and stopped the car from sounding like a giant vacuum when you put your foot down.

EGR has many benefits, one of them being cooler combustion temps at low/partial engine loads and variable displacement, with 50% EGR effectively reducing your engine capacity to 1/2. Fuel economy increases etc, the list of benefits goes on and on. And you shouldn't have blanked the EGR, you should have just drilled a 7mm hole in the plate and put that in place. You would pass emissions but it would significantly reduce EGR enough to prevent problems down the line until the car was sent to heaven. To me, it's better just to install a 150ml reservoir catch can with a 1 micron filter. The way to resolve the oil coming into the intake is to redirect the PCV system through a catch can. then you only need to perform maintenance on the catch can and replace the filter every 40k km or so.

Nice video for anyone considering an EGR blank or a throttle body clean. I had the same engine on a Citroen C5. Blanking the EGR definitely resulted in less smoke and better idle for me. On your video at 12:33 you can see a sensor in the throttle body. Its called an Inlet Air Temperature or IAT sensor and it looks like its covered in a layer of oil. Next time you are cleaning the throttle body I suggest you remove both the MAP and the IAT sensor from the throttle body assembly .Use an electrical contact cleaning spray on the IAT. Electrical contact cleaners do not leave a residue behind, normal cleaning sprays do and can mess up sensors readings. You can also use the same electrical contact cleaner on your MAF sensor on the air intake box. Spray them to get the crud off , lightly use a tooth brush if required, leave them to dry for 15 mins. Try not to touch the IAT or MAF internal sensor, the sensor itself looks like a wire resistor, if that makes sense.

Drilling holes in your air box is never going to do anything to performance. EGR delete Might increase air flow (I think) and will reduce carbon build up. I also think it might help a little with fuel efficiency But does not really do that much (if any) to performance.

Ive looked at that on my car, it leaves behind a large square hole in the airbox. Your going to intake hot air from the engine bay, so your need a pipe from the grill to that hole for cool air, it might be better then the original snorkel i was surprised to see how small that entrance was on the oem snorkel. I wonder how connect up the replacement pipe to oem airbox.

New discs and pads can make a car look a lot better and it's a simple job as well. I always put a bit of copper grease on the part of the pad that slides along and on the back to help stop any squeaks. Also you should spray brake clean on discs to get the oil off that they put on them to stop them rusting when in storage. I've also never seen a widow maker Jack like that before.

@benbradstock183
@benbradstock183 3 ай бұрын
If the breaks are squishy or every 2 years is the general consensus that I have seen in owners manuals and advice. You can buy a set of test strips to see if it needs changing but after 12 years it's almost certainly in need of changing. You can check the colour too, from what I've seen it should be a see-through yellow colour. Start bleeding from the brake furthest from the reservoir, moving to the next furthest after, topping up the reservoir with new brake fluid as you go. When it runs clear, tighten the nipple back up and move to the next brake. Hope that helps :)
