As of now that's a good start for camellia. Just a friendly reminder to up pot the camellia meaning move it to a bigger pot in maybe 2 to 4 years from now.

Hello and thank you for watching this video. It is recommended to follow manufacturer's instructions at all times when spraying in the garden. Monterey BT that attaches to a waterhose is easier to use.

You can use any fertilizer with N-P-K content on it. If available I use balance fertilizer, meaning fertilizer with same number/amount of N-P-K.

Great video, Evelyn. I must try this on my rose bushes. I just noticed white spots on my rose bushes today. It wasn't a powdery mildew but white spots scattered on the surface of the leaves. I'm assuming that this was the start of powdery mildew.

why do you have to cut at an angle?
@EvelynsCaliforniaGarden2 ай бұрын
I'm used to cutting stems in an angle. You can cut the stems straight or in an angle. Some people cut stems in an angle because they believe water can't penetrate through the stems or fluid will not stay in the stems and make stems rot.

So how do I determine to use the milk mixture or Neem oil? I have powder mildew on 1 plant and spider mites on the other. Should I use the Neem oil on both?

My research indicates that Neem oil should be mixed with Castile soap, or ani regular dish soap, and water; the Castile soap acts as an emulsifier. Be aware though that after using Neem oil in a sprayer ensure that you immediately clean your sprayer.Neem oil has the tendency to gel inside your spray mechanism and will make it inoperable.

I bought some of these for my patio planters last July. Unfortunately the deer ate about half of the leaves, I’ve since put cages around the plants but don’t know if they’ll bloom now.
@EvelynsCaliforniaGarden8 ай бұрын
Try to check for flower buds. If you see some then there's a chance for you to see it bloom this flowering season. Even though the deer eat their foliage it should survive. It usually grow a lot of foliage right after flowering season. Sometime around April, May, and June.

Thank you so much. I purchased my plant October. Not knowing about the plant, i thought it strange that it had loads of buds. I now know how to care for this beautiful plant
@EvelynsCaliforniaGarden9 ай бұрын
Hello and thank you for watching this video. Camellias can produce flower buds as early as last week of May or early June depending on the variety or type of camellia. So if your camellia starts producing flower buds say June, the flower buds size will keep growing until the flower buds will open its bloom during its flowering season. To have flower buds on your camellia October is definitely a normal thing.

Hello. After this growing season 2024 for this bearded iris, I'm considering to give away some of my bearded iris as I need ground space for my other plants. I will keep you posted. If you buy bearded iris rhizome from a reputable company they can be pricey as they are well taken care of, but then again it's the quality that you are paying for.

The soil is not acidic then the compost is not acidic either.

I routinely add soil acidifier in all my camellias. Prior to making this video, I already added soil acidifier to the soil in it's original pot. So no need to add more soil acidifier.
