assalaamu alaikum the word الْبِرَّ comes from root word ب ر ر, which is used to describe Righteousness, Most Kind, Land, Dutiful and some others. Apart from all these its also a sifat of Allah SWT ٱلْبَرُّ meaning The Source of Goodness, the Kind Benefactor. Word الْبِرَّ is mentioned in several verses 2:44 where Allah is asking people rhetorically who order الْبِرَّ to others but they themself do not abide by it even despite being reciter of the Book 2:177 in this verse Allah describes الْبِرَّ as 1. BELIEVING in Allah, the Last Day, the Angels, the Book, and the Prophets 2. DISTRIBUTING WEALTH to relatives, orphans, needy, travellers, people who ask and for freeing slaves 3. Establishing prayers and charity, fulfilling their promises when made and be patient during harship and battle now the question arises are these all الْبِرَّ means? Answer is NO 2:189 in this verse الْبِرَّ is described as fearing Allah and entering Houses from their door Reading these verses we get an idea the word الْبِرَّ doesn't have a static meaning but its dynamic in nature and based on the context it gives you appropriate meaning in 2:177 الْبِرَّ is used to describe Beliefs and Good Acts in 2:189 الْبِرَّ is used to describe a specific good Act and in 3:92 الْبِرَّ is used as reward against sacrificing something that is dear to us in the way of Allah in Hashia there is a naqal Imām Mahdias was sitting. Malik BurhanuddinRZ came. The ImāmAS explained the Qurānic Verse, By no means shall ye attain righteousness unless ye give (freely) of that which ye love; and whatever ye give, of a truth Allah knoweth it well. The MalikRZ presented his sword and horse to the ImāmAS. The ImāmAS said, “O Malik Burhanuddin, Allah demands your ẕāt (self); not your sword and horse.” Immediately the MalikRZ repented and renounced the world (performed tauba and tark-e-dunyā). Now to address your question why did the host mention deedar e khuda for الْبِرَّ in 3:92, the above mentioned naqal says that a person has to sacrifice himself in the way of Allah to attain الْبِرَّ. Here الْبِرَّ is reward for sacrificing, and what's better reward than Deedar e Khuda, to be precise Zaath e Khuda suit الْبِرَّ well here.
