There's one on the shelf at one of my regular haunts and I've been considering it. Have you left the hammers cocked in storage or dry fired before putting away? I just hate leaving springs under tension if safe to dry fire. Is reciever steel or alloy too?
@drazenmilanovic46326 ай бұрын
I have AZoom type "snap caps" 12ga for all my shotguns and I ALWAYS release hammers and store them like that. Snap caps have rubber middle where firing pin can land WITHOUT risking any DAMAGE. Receiver is steel!

I just got this gun in the 28” version. I had an issue with mine not firing the second barrel after only 4 rounds through the gun due to the automatic safety resetting after firing the first barrel. I found the fix for this and removed the automatic safety bar and replaced it with a roll pin. I took it back to the range after changing that and with the 10 rounds I shot it functioned flawlessly. It’s a great gun but Stoeger/Benelli needs to redesign that mechanism because it is apparently a widespread issue

Good day sir. Is the trigger inertia driven, or is it mechanical, meaning that even if the first shot fails to go off, it will still fire the second one?
@drazenmilanovic463211 ай бұрын
Mechanical. I took it apart when cleaning.

I put over 5,000 rounds through IT before I bought other trap and sporting clays shotguns. Dropped IT once or twice. ALWAYS go bang. This one doesn't NEED babying. And very, VERY reasonably priced. Can't go wrong for duck hunting. In my opinion.

Hi - great find. 3 questions - Can the comb be cast off/on? (closer or farther from your cheek) - and is it noticeably lighter the a traditional BT 99 ? Did you modify the butt stock or is that the original?
@RagingOatmeal Жыл бұрын
Pretty sure this gun weighs in around 9.1lbs. Not sure what your bt weighs but I would say its a heavier gun than my newer bt-99plus.

@@Honda1k I love it. I ALMOST bought another one, "BNIB", but it got sold before I contacted the owner with my offer. I'm using mine for trap exclusively. I added 4 spacers in the comb and it's currently set up perfectly for me, and for my trap shooting style. It's my "go-to" trap singles shotgun.

How's the recoil for this shotgun?
@drazenmilanovic46323 жыл бұрын
Quite manageable, compared to some other lower end O/U's that I had a chance to try. It wasn't kicking hard at factory weight of roughly 8.1 pounds. After I added approx. 1.1 pounds of weight in the stock cavity and balanced it to be perfectly neutral (and not barrel heavy) that reduced recoil tremendously. I could shoot several hundred rounds (300+) WITHOUT any discomfort.

Why not raise the butt plate and pad up to lower the comb past the factory amount?
@drazenmilanovic46323 жыл бұрын
No issues anymore. I was shooting sporting clays without any spacers. POI was 50/50 WITHOUT spacers. Raised comb by adding 3 spacers later on during the tail end of the trap shooting season, therefore raised POI which produced VERY good results. Trying to lower the comb VERY early in the game was a wasted effort.

Shot almost 5,000 rounds with it since unboxing. Shot it without any spacers, flat, with 50/50 POI until September. Then played with raising the comb and patterned IT on a pattern board. Settled on 3/16 comb raise which works great for me for American Trap, as well as Sporting Clays.
