I have heard Melissa Etheridge compared to Janice Joplin any number of times. As it happens I am old enough to have heard both in concert. That being said I will say this: I'd give a weeks pay to hear JJ sing this song.

Another way it could be interpreted instead of the original - It was 6:58 when the ice cream assassin killed the child inside and told me that I didn't really mean it when I said no/I didn't want it.

This song was modeled after the children's toy pull string talking farm animal wheel. The cow says moo. Then as a device it has a large voice of something over the music. That also talks .
