I’ll be purchasing this soundset once I get more familiar with my andromeda which arrived today. If you’re on the fence about the andromeda, JUMP! I started buying synths in 1985. Too many to count have come and gone. I almost considered buying the andromeda in 1999 but I couldn’t shake that it was ALESIS! A 16 voice poly from ALESIS? I AM SO ANGRY AT MYSELF FOR WAITING SO LONG! NO ANALOG SYNTH IVE EVER OWNED CAN COME ANYWHERE CLOSE TO THIS MASTERPIECE SYNTH! I only played it three hours and it was already obvious that the andromeda is in a class all by itself!

Hi Don ! Great soundset ! Just wondering : to what extent could the pack be (or not) ported to the regular Zen Core engine ? (Asking, as my setup is a Minifreak + and Roland MV-1 groovebox :). (and an Amiga 1200 ;-) Take care ! --- Also, personal question : a guy offers to swap my Reface CP (bring-anywhere-mini-piano) with an old but revised/working Blofeld *keyboard*. Worth it ?)

Great sounding set! I'm gonng buy this one as well after buying quite a few of your fantastic sets. Could you please describe what are the drums that are playing between 0406 and 0450? I would love to purchase this set
@DonSolaris3 ай бұрын
Yes! The drums were originally sampled into Akai S1000 which adds a certain sweet character to the highs. It's a set called Akai Drums. It will be available sometime in the future. I sampled a bunch of drum machines into Akai S1000. The point was, it's A/D adds certain character, which I measured and documented. The set will be available in .wav format, logic ESX, Ableton and even in original(!) Akai S1000 format to use with Zulu2SCSI on hardware samplers. Point is: just loading pure samples into soft sampler misses the point, if they didn't go through actual Akai's S1000 A/D section, and all of these samples did! Took ages to do it, over 1000 samples. Stay tuned. I don't know how soon, but don't worry it will come out. This channel will let you know when. :)
@discodivo90453 ай бұрын
@@DonSolaris wow these are great news! i don't have any akai samplers but had the dpx-1 that could read the akai S series files. It is now broken and my tech guy gave up :( I currently use the e-mu emulator ii, the e-mu esi 32 and the yamaha tx16w as hardware samplers. I use mostly hardware. My experience with synths and drum machines is by far more productive than my experience with hardware samplers. I can't get pass the bulkiness, long boot times and intimidating interfaces. i installed gotek floppy emulators in all of these units but still can't find the patience. Would you say that the Akai S1000 is friendier to use? Is the boot time shorter with SCSI?

Dear folks, to my horror I just realised I forgot to include one important reference in the vid. The point was that the Ensoniq company = ex Commodore staff. Hence why Commodore Amiga was used for the graphics.
@ShallRemainUnknown3 ай бұрын
Haha, nice, I had/loved both computers. However, while some ex-Commodore engineers left to form Ensoniq, the Amiga was designed by ex-Atari engineers, and yet other ex-Commodore engineers designed the Atari ST. Good times, awesome computers (and synths), crazy history!😁 (Oh yeah, then the DOC chip - heart of Mirage/ESQ/SQ80 - made it into Apple's IIGS. But Apple was sued by Beatles' record co. over it, so all worked out. For a while...) (And Amiga's awesome sample-based sound chip could load/play Mirage floppies with the right software!)
@DonSolaris3 ай бұрын
@@ShallRemainUnknown Yes, remember seeing a YT video about Amiga and Atari essentially each designed by the other team. Didn't know about loading Mirage samples into Amiga. Do you know the name of the program? I have some Mirage disks in image format. Would like to extract the entire library.

Search GS for thread "EVERY Ensoniq Mirage sample on an ancient FTP" , should be links to pre-converted library to Amiga. Unfortunately I don't know Amiga soft's name at moment, but I think Paulee Alex Bow is/was heavy into it, so you may check with him. (Don't know his current username on GS.) If I figure out software title , will update here. Thanks, and great sounds! (Love your old A4000 synthesis demos, too!😉)
