Paano Kung ang student na mahawa sa pasyente ng malubhang sakit na pede ipasa sa iba? Tuloy pa rin maging doctor basta? Just curious lng po.

I had a patient who mentioned her Dr. Studied Medicine at Harvard. I simply responded we took and passed the same board exam. That eased her fears and doubts being treated by non white Dr.

Dapat naman talaga wala nang premed. Dito sa ibang bansa directly from grade 12, 1st year proper na ng medicine. Useless naman kasi pag talagang magmedicine kana hindi din naman magagamit ang 4 or 5 year course na. Dapat baguhin na nila yan.

Mama was a very intelligent woman, who was just like any mother everywhere who wanted her son to be a Dr.. Picking up the pieces, Older brother a marine engineer supported my tuition. Family members trusted me and believed I could tackle the job. Pieces of land that Papa invested were sold "Dirt cheap". I enrolled at FEU for Pre-med, continued to Medicine Proper and Graduated in 1965. Had to stop when brother supporting the school was dry-docked. Sought help from an uncle. Kept my papers in order Boards Prelim and Finals, ECFMG and US placement fof internships were arranged. Always shoot for the highest goals and have "PLAN B"if the original plans don;t materialize. I wanted to be a Plastic Surgeon but residency placements were for "U.S. and CANADIAN " graduates only. Worked as an ER Physician for 2 years. Invited by a mayor of a small town "SHENANDOAH",Virginia for 4 years. Unable to tolerate the cold, my wife conviced me to move to Florida. I had 3 years residency in surgery (Plastic ) unavailable.Took the State boards and passed, took the Boards in Family practice and passed also, Passed the Fellowship in Family practice. Being Certified and a Fellow are passports to any kind of work. When I closed my practice of Family Practice after 29 years , I availed myself to various work , a few months, as a TSA examiner, 2 terms as a Correctional medical Officer, several terms as reservation doctor at the Indian reservation. the 3 months locum was extended to 6 years, as chief of medicine in Navajo Indian reservation. The place will keep you if they like you. Keep your records clean, fulfill all the requirements and "SHOOT FOR THE SKY" '

Hello po Doc Dalvie thank you so much for this po. I'm currently 24 years old fresh grad nurse in the US. Do you think it's possible pa na bumalik ng pilipinas at magaral po ng medicine at around 28 years old? Would that be too late? I never got financial assistance from my family po kaya kailangan ko pa pong magipon bago bumalik sa pinas. Attainable po ba magaral while working? or should I just be studying po pagbalik ko diyaan.
