Rebekah attacked Elena over a necklace before she even knew anything about Elena. Plus, after what Elijah did, they couldn't risk Rebekah getting in the way of them taking doen Klaus since she's his sister. Elena did it to be safe.

All the people hating elena needs to understand that in tvd, elena was the main character and Rebekah hated and wanted to kill Elena from the start will ofc make her the bad guy. I'm not saying Rebekah is the bad one, and yes both Rebekah and Elena killed to save the people they love. Rebekah killed Elena to save her family and it's obvious that she will become the bad guy in the eyes of the people that cared about Elena (they all loved her for God's sake). Also, it makes sense that Elena daggered Rebekah because Niklaus was that one person who was beside her for 1000 years, she promised to be with him forever and as a vampire her emotions are heightened, and therefore there was a really high chance that she would betray them. *AND IN THE END, JUST BECAUSE YOU LOVE REBEKAH, IT DOESN'T MEAN TO HAVE TO HATE ELENA, YOU CAN LOVE BOTH OT THEM AT THE SAME TIME*

I’ll hate elena if I want, she’s a hypocritical person who judges everyone for killing ppl but the goes ahead and kills an ENTIRE sireline for selfish reasons, and the fact that she acted all surprised when rebekah went after her knowing that she DAGGERED her is hypocritical or when she judged stefan for sleeping with her “killer” but proceeded to sleep with someone who killed her own brother which is worse.

@@1klarolinestan991killing kol was not the nicest thing she's done, but it wasn't for selfish reasons, she wanted everyone, not just herself to have a shot at the cure and kol literally compelled damon to kill Jeremy. If you hate elena for being hypocritical, you should also hate caroline too by that logic
