Other than DiB, the character of Little Carmine was probably inspired by Raymond "Junior" Patriarca Jr and John Gotti Jr. Ray Jr wasnt the brightest and definitely not as resepcted as his father, Raymond Sr. He was considered weak. The difference is, Ray Jr was the official boss for a short period, until he was pinched and Frank Salemme took over. After his release from prison, Ray Jr decided to avoid OC and he retired. Junior Gotti was considered as the dumb fella and nobody took him serious. You've done a video on him already, and as you said, basically nobody was interested in meeting him or conducting business with him. Much like Carmine Jr, Junior Gotti retired in peace after doing time for a plea deal that he took. I always enjoyed the maquitas. It just never occurred to me to order one.

@@GoodFellaAth I’ve actually heard that Carmine Jr was based on Tommy Gambino. A guy who had a certain level of success based on his father’s influence that was at time semi legit but never having the ability to step out of his fathers shadow. Although I can’t remember where I read this.

@@walkermorgan1710 It is very possible. Many of these characters were influenced by various real life mobsters for different reasons. The same goes with the family as a whole. I've heard it is based on the Lucchese family but I've come to understand that the Gambino, Bonanno & Colombo families have influenced it as well. The nicknames the characters have (DiMeo family) resemble the nicknames Colombo heavyweights have had (Junior, Allie Boy, Tony Black etc)

Wire was based off Nathan Avon barksdale he actually existed along with marlo and wee bey (victor smith)..Roland bell which would be stringer..they all existed but David Simon wasn’t finna cut them no check for they stories and likeness smh

I’d say the article lays it out pretty good where he came up with the names man. He just mixed and matched the existing guys. And many of the instances were clearly inspirations for storylines in the first season.

Yeah different style called Cardigans rather than Pembroke’s which are the reddish brown ones. Some come in black and the other one is a Blue Merele with brindle points. Nice dogs tons of energy.
