I had to leave the GRES when my govt job privatised. No way they would give me time or shifts that would work. I used all my A/L for the first year or two but it was unsustainable.

Odd, I was never in Aus but in Irish Reserves and FFL in France, in both countries if you gotta go, you go and your spot will be there when you get back. Includes lifeboat and firefighter volunteers, it's written into law. Managers don't have a choice.

I agree, nothing has changed, you didn't need a survey to find that out.

Same here in Britain. I joined the TA after I left the Regular Army. When I was mobilised for Iraq, the company said I couldn't go. Then they said they wouldn't keep my job, which I pointed out was illegal. After my tour, I went in to tell them I would be back at work the next week. One of the managers said "it's about time seeing as you've had nine months off." Utter prick.

Some industries are better than other for reservists. Medical, Emergency Services and some large companies positively support reservists.

This hasn't changed in 30 years, defence has never understood civilian employment.
@rayatkin39134 күн бұрын
Many civilian employers are too stupid to realise Reservists are the core of a defence force which must rapidly expand if war is declared. Reservists deserve 100% support.
@jockmarshall76014 күн бұрын
You haven't got the point being made here. It is the civilian employers not allowing their reservist to attend military training. Don't bash Defence for that.

This is the three minute thesis (3MT), based on a university student's PhD. An 80,000 word PhD thesis would take 9 hours to present. Their time limit is 3 minutes.
The enzyme is NEDD4-2. Dr Manning’s (the speaker here who names the enzyme) research has not yet found any way of increasing it. Don’t be misled into thinking there’s a magic answer there already, however exercise is generally good for health. See your doctor if concerned
