You will not feel anything while the unit is operating; this is strictly ultrasound, not a combo unit with tens or stimulation. Sometimes, you will feel a tingle if you are going over an area of more significant soft tissue damage or inflammation, but 99% of the time you will feel nothing.

If used properly with gel, you won't feel anything. To make sure the head is working, put a drop of water on the metal and the bead will vibrate.

The slight buzzing sound occurs only when the head is lifted off the gel. You will feel nothing during the treatment time. I have been using these units in a professional setting for years and they work great.

@@chrisgrayling7584 Define "the head." It's impossible to submerge the shallow metal circle without submerging at least part of the wand in any normal environment.

@@jonfraze First of all, it is very sad that these devices are available to the public, because they can do significant internal damage. I am a health care provider and have been using ultrasound therapy for 4 decades. "Disclaimer: Always follow manufacturer's instructions. " The emitting part of the device (the silver 'head") has always been used under water, to treat fingers,, toes - areas that are difficult to treat topically. The sound waves travel through the water (as with the gel).

Well I got one today and the first thing they told me was” do not use this device on your chest or neck”. Nothing hard about that.

Unless you have a brain and can learn how to use this. If you have a problem with excessive warnings on electrical products (ie: don't use in a bath tub), then yes, this device may be too much for you to use on your own.

@@Ragazzoedimburgo My thoughts exactly. You said just what I was thinking! Lol. I personally am in love with TENS and EMS units (I don't have this one in particular though) and it's amazing what these little units can do for your muscles and/or pain relief that is very similar to what is used in physical therapy. Nothing comes without a risk though. We are dealing with manipulating the electrical currents that already run through our bodies. You would think it would be common sense NOT to put electrodes near the heart, neck, face or head. It even says specifically where to and where not to place them in the instructions of EVERY TENS/EMS unit in case you don't know. Sorry to rant. I just hate it when people give something a poor review and tell others not to purchase it because THEY used it wrong. Even if it malfunctioned, why was the chest and thorax involved if it wasn't placed in an area of the body it wasn't supposed to be? JS.
