The owner of the property rescued that statue when a property was being torn down in the Nashville area. They were just throwing it out, so he took and set it up there. As for the little overhang with the brick, they used to have a still under there. I don't know if it was also purely for decoration, or if it commemorated where people used to run a still in the old days. Unfortunately, around 2020 or 2021 when the waterfall was discovered by the internet and huge crowds started arriving someone tore it out and threw it down to the creek.
@NickandRachel

Bamboo is an invasive species and can take over entire eco systems devastating the indigenous plant life! This is not cool it should be gotten rid of! For example Topanga Canyon in California has been completely taken over by bamboo and they are fighting to keep it from spreading to other canyons! The original plant life is completely gone!

I am excited for my road trip to Dallas for VidSummit after seeing this video. Going to see my old roommate at Kansas City! Oh man, all these animals would freak me out. It's "bull kelp." Assuming that log you showed crossing was the only one, you had a remarkably easy crossing of Ellen's Creek! Sometimes you have to walk on logs 10 feet up over the backed up creek. And when it's icy out, or the log's are covered in snow, lots of fun. If you get back to south side of Ellen's Creek with a high incoming tide you can walk back to the parking lot on trails up in the trees. Best agate beach. That green rock was lovely.

I would love to see it covered in snow that would be awesome! Don't know if I would be climbing on the logs there we're not used to the snow here in Georgia 🤣 I remember looking it up after we left it is bull kelp Rachel kind of said it in the video I believe but the wind and the waves were too loud for it to pick up good. @@NickandRachel Also, those tracks: Looks like racoon. OTOH, my first thought was river otter since it's near lots of water and we've seen them fairly often on the Olympic coast. However, after carefully looking and reviewing ID photos (good ones with explanation here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/h2bbcqmveLh5rq8) I do think it's racoon. They are plentiful on the Olympic coast (to the point of being an aggressive pest around camps). We prefer not to see snow on the beach. It can be pretty but it's cold and wet! Combined with wind, it can be miserable out there. We prefer sunny and (at least relatively) warm ;-), which happens even in winter. Happy trails...

That springs was awesome first time we ever been! So usually I film with a Sony A7S3 with a 24 - 70 zoom lens. That's what I feel I'm on my hiking videos with and I'd say about 98% of the videos on this channel. This particular video and all the vlogs that I've made have been filmed with my cell phone. I was using a Samsung Galaxy s24 ultra to film this video. You should definitely check out our other videos they're way more cinematic and look a lot better! We got one more road trip blog to drop and then we'll be posting all the hikes we did while we were in Oregon.
