@MrSFSTUDIOS4 күн бұрын
I don't know the numbers for the caliper rebuild kit. I can't seem to even find remanufactured ones online. The Vega is now 52 years old and was obsolete by the 1980's. Good luck. if there are enough people out there that still run the stock brakes, some manufacturer will take notice and offer parts. That's what happened during the pandemic. Raybestos started making rotors again. You might contact the Cosworth Vega Owner's Association. They usually have all kinds of sources for Vega parts. Hope that helps!

@@MrSFSTUDIOSnecessity is a hell of a motivator. In the summer of ‘23 I was forced to rebuild an engine on a ‘17 vehicle we owed 17k on. I didn’t think I could do it…but I had to. Much like your the point of this video, ‘you can do it’….if it’s necessary. At the same time, I only charge $30/hr for small engine repair. I’m pretty affordable. Anyway, good video bud. I admire people who do things to keep their stuff going. The big part of my business is buying machines people felt it’d be better to replace. Just go with a handler who will guide you. People have worn Cylon costumes to comic-cons before. There are several videos of them here on KZbin. Search Cylons at comicon. Kropserkel kits were very popular a decade ago for those who could afford them..

@MrSFSTUDIOSАй бұрын
Why not? Paint it silver. Should work fine. After-all you are not making one exactly like the show in 1978, you are making your interpretation of a Cylon. A Cylon built without the aid of a large budget and vast production facility of Universal Studios. Whatever you make it will be more of a Cylon than you had when you started. Have fun! Good for you for being creative and determined.

Hi there I’m also in my build hand just received my eye ,but once the eye is in how would I see
@MrSFSTUDIOSАй бұрын
The original helmets had little holes drilled above the eye ridge where the smooth round helmet begins on both sides. The stunt-men could see slightly out of those. For my helmet, I drilled out the mouth louvers and backed it with a metal grill. That is how I see, but yes visibility is very poor in these helmets when finished. The costume overall is miserable to wear, bulky, awkward and fragile.

@MrSFSTUDIOSАй бұрын
It is a VT-4. It has a robot setting that is very close to the Cylon voices. You can tweak pitch, reverb, even harmonize the voices you create. If you watch my Battlestar Nekhbet mini-series, all the character voices were created with it. It runs on double AA batteries and is portable. Just hook it to a microphone and a portable speaker and you can create unique voices anywhere.

This video was created in response to a video where someone drilled holes in their transaxle to drain the oil. The video is designed to show how easy it is to remove, drain and refill a K46 unit is. I did not wish to introduce new leaks by disturbing the factory silicone that glues the two halves together. If you wish to undertake a complete disassembly, including cleaning and resealing of the unit feel free to do so. At some point, I may do the same, but as mine is not leaking, there was no need to disturb the seal.

@@rickywhyte7601 I don't always fiberglass stuff. The foam core was a $3.00 clearance poster at Hobo Lobby. The foil paper was a few bucks more. Can of spray adhesive, boom..done! @MrSFSTUDIOS3 ай бұрын
That would be fun, but I think that might be a bit stressful on a Vega engine's head-gasket. Might need high-octane race gas too to keep it out of detonation.
@tomnassar58843 ай бұрын
@MrSFSTUDIOS when I bought them, I couldn't find stock pistons. I also had Total Seal make a set of custom rings. The plan was to mill the pistons down to 9:1 ratio, but then out of the blue I found a guy who had a set of new stock pistons, so I went that route. Machine shops can mill down the tops.

@@tomnassar5884 That's cool. That would add more pop to the fire for sure. My motor is good with its nasty crower-camshaft and ported head. I don't want to open it back up ever again.
