7.5t big cab n hiab not much carrying capacity your asking to be under scrutiny,vtg plate is not a big deal but all the small things add up on test, i test trucks and trailers every day, you can have a voluntary vbt and headlight check before your test if you use an atf ,but its a cost but will highlight any issues with headlights or brakes etc ,instead of calling the test process,remove hub caps/ wheel trims as a common courtesy to aid the tester to check wheel security instead of whining about it

If you fit the headlight h7’s incorrectly and they short out on the bulb wire clip your dashboard light switch will catch fire 🔥 and so will a lot of the dashboard

Great job getting lorry all sorted out. Some hard work gone into that. Don’t forget if you are tacho exempt you need to have the exemption form filled out and signed in lorry in case you get stopped. That’s what tester told me when i took my lorry for test last year 👍

Sounds like you had a new tester that has to do everything by the book! They’re the worst! Headlight aim is technically a fail then retest, gets the testers failure rate up easily because they are marked on how many they fail and pass! I’ve had it before where it’s a big deal that stuff is wrong and they make a if thing then others that go, I’m going over here, sort that thing out there quick, and nothing is noted down! HGV tests are a pain and get my blood pressure going every time!

Those ratchet crimps you have are not for the semi-clear (heatshrink) crimps; they are only for the bright red/blue/yellow crimps (mostly spade/eyelets). You need a different crimper for the heatshrink crimps.
