It's so confusing. I'm 48, and I first watched basketball in 1989. It was the Pistons beating Milwaukee to get to the finals to play the Lakers. I was going for Detroit because my uncle was a big Lakers fan. But I saw Michael Jordan and started watching the Bulls. I read a lot of NBA books and was fascinated with the Celtics. I'm glad I got to see Bird, McHale, and Parish. I liked Philadelphia and Charles Barkley, and the Knicks with Ewing. But now things just aren't the same. I still like the Sixers, but basketball is so different from when I started watching it.

Red auerbach died in 2006..at the time of his death he was still watching a hundred games a years as a consultant. For Boston....he was asked to name the 18 best players ever.. he said he would leave LeBron James off the list because he had not played long enough....and he refused to put them in any order...but he didcdsy that Michael Jordan was probably the greatest player ever..but you could also make a case for ..larry bird..magic Johnson and Kareem abdul jabbar as best ever ...in his opinion...then he started listing guys in no particular order....he listed bill russell...wilt chamberlain... Julius erving..charles Barkley..kobe bryant .kevin mchale..karl Malone Elgin Baylor..oscar Robertson..jerry west... John havlicek..bob pettit..bob cousy..and dolph schayes.... interesting

They might as well rename KZbin the all time five star basketball camp. Literally every coach in history has clinics on here. This is a great one but there are others.

since the ridiculous changes after this film was made, defense is tougher now. everyone here 'checks' his opponent w/ a hand on his waist. more whistles were the result. whistles slow down a Basketball game. chickenshit.

I just found this, he was even doing how to win videos to make the other guys on other teams to play better against him. Because he would play better if they played better! Plus he wanted those younger players coming up to play better to get better players into the sport! JUST AMAZING!

Yes Bird is in the top 5 of all time along with Wilt Chamberlain Bill Russell Michael Jordan and Kareem Abdul Jabber.these 5 because Wilt was unstoppable would be in any Era the man has records that will never be broken Russell was the ultimate winner hands down he won 11 championships in 13 years it will never be done again Jordan because he changed the way the game was played and there will never be another Jordan Kareem because he was also unstoppable the longevity of sustained superstar performance every year he played us second to none then Bird the man was 3steps ahead of everybody he was the man among boys the determination he had failure was not an option his heart no other player will ever have Jordan being the closet at probably 33oecent of what Birds was Birds toughness it is legendary the greatest trash talker and the man could back it up and tell you how he was going to do it and still you couldn't do nothing about it these 5 will forever be on Mt Rushmore of players will come close but in those days superstars didn't get a team of superstars just to win a ring you see Bird wanted to beat humiliate you he wanted to play against the best not like today's NBA you got so called superstars that request trades because things don't look good you have superstars that quit on their team you got superstars not playing because they have a hang nail only kidding but not playing because there a little sore and you have superstars claiming there the GOAT ya saying they are the best I never ever heard any if those 5 superstars proclaim that they are the GOAT not 1 not Russell not Jordan none of them why because these guy respect the players before their time and the playes coming every year to the NBA these 5 had RESPECT for the NBA the fans their organizations now a days make a call hey let's put you and me and him and we will rule the NBA and get the ring I'll ask to be traded I'll quit on the team and we all will get together and maybe win yup that's the state if the NBA today basically some entitled superstars that don't know the meaning of team don't care about fans it's what I want and what I can get and a bunch of crybabys that look at the red everything they miss a shot superstars that FLOP you think some of these superstars of the NBA could of played in the Era of those 5 superstars NO WAY some of them wouldn't even be starters in those eras just the physicality aspect of the game in the Era of those 5 these so called superstars of today wouldn't stand a chance and that's the bottom line

If I had stuck to fundamentals instead of trying to "get cute" I would have made my high school basketball teams. Lesson learned and I look back on it fondly now. At 43 I will practice some things on my own at the nearby court just for fun and exercise.

I wonder what the training videos are like today. Shoot a 3. 4 on 1 fast break, stop n shoot a 3. Make sure u use no energy on defense. Flop at all costs. Act like u got shot when u didn't get touched driving down the lane. Make sure u team up with all the other best players to make super team since u can't win other wise. Oh I forgot shoot 3s and more 3s. Oh yeah shoot 3s. There's your new training video of today's NBA

Larry Bird was asked what he was looking at on the Garden Ceiling when they played the Anthem. He said he looked at Bobby Orrs banner. That put him in the right frame of mind and he did emulate Orr as the greatest ever.

When I look back back at the Boston Celtics of the 1980s, I am amazed by how great a team they were! Celtics displayed excellent team basketball! The Lakers and 76ers dazzled crowds with great athletic performances from Dr. J, Magic and Kareem. The Celtics performed as a team with excellent, fundamental, basketball!

The only superstar from that time including magic Wilkins Thomas Kareem Barkley Hakeem Bird was the player Jordan never beat look it up Jordan never beat Bird imagine that yes Jordan is in the top 3 don't ever forget Wilt Chamberlain and the man who won the most championships Russell 4th would be Kareem and fifth bottom line the superstar who wanted the shot with the game on the line the biggest trash talker who could back up his trash talking and in my opinion the player with the determination and heart that n other player ever til this day ever had Jordan being the closest that player LARRY BIRD but it's true Jordan never beat Bird and that is a fact
