Dougie was a champion, simple. Bontompelli has just eclipsed him as the best Bulldog I've seen. In seeing numerous games at Victoria Park, he was the only opposition player the Collingwood members applauded when he ran to the bench at the start of the game. Had a terrific respect with Darren Millane and most if not all opposition supporters respected and admired his football ability. A proud Westy who never forgot his origins.

Extraordinary game .... I had no idea about this NOR the comeback BY Footscrary earlier in the year. Footscray then did it to my team, Carlton a few weeks later. We were about 6 goals up and got run over completely

1:43. Never seen a mark like that before but what's the rule there? He actually kicked it up during the marking process so should it have been a play on (not 10) as it was in those days? Can someone inform me of the rule there? Mind you the umpire called it a mark prior to it coming off his boot

I was Playing Reserves at thePies and Trent Hotten got a Call up to Senior's against the Dog's at Western Oval,He either Started or Come on pretty early and lined up on the Wing on Douggie and I just thought I'm glad that ain't me,He held his Own as he was Tall and a Good match up against the Hawk.i was on Steve McPhearson Super in the twos and he ran me off my feet all Day.
