@@Funk11147 Output as measured in what- Capacitance, Inductance, Resistance, V/mV? My guess is you’re referring to DCR resistance, which isn’t the same as output, as it is dependent on so many variables (wire thickness, wire composition, etc).

@@Funk11147 Again, you’re referring to DCR resistance, which isn’t the same thing as output. To answer your question, I’m not too schooled on Ford, Fletcher, or Smith, so I can’t really say. The Dingwalls are a little smoother sounding than the Mojos…the Mojo’s sound closer to my ear to PAFs

I have Spirits59 in my Les Paul Custom 72. I replaced BB2 and 3. Those pickups are bright,dynamic and I pair them with my Bogner XTC quite nicely. With higher gain you need to be a little careful not to set amp too bright or they can sound a little thin,but in the band context you will get heard a lot. I would definitely buy them once more if this were stolen. Did I mention that they are very dynamic 😆

@@Max_Kleiber I have spirits since 2011 and we were talking over email a lot with Wolfgang, here is his description: These aged magnets make the sound even more transparent and crispy and the attack is even faster than on any other pickup. However, the output level is slightly lower compared to the other humbuckers. The neck pickup is bluesy (similar to the Classic Rock) but has a deeper voicing; the bridge pickup comes with smooth hights and a great dynamic response - especially nice when volume and gain of the amp are up a little.
@beljakovincАй бұрын
@@Max_Kleiber I hope he won’t get mad if I paste his descriptions: The 59 CrossPoint is a unique combination of the Classic series with a nice moderate neck pickup equipped with AlNiCo II (not as clear as Classic Standard and not as crunchy as Classic Rock). The bridge pickup of the 59 CrossPoint is moderately overwound and equipped with an AlNiCo V magnet. This combination makes it a powerful pickup but still with P.A.F. characteristics. Dear Matt! Thank you so much for recording all your videos, they're amazing! ☆_☆ Sorry for the question, but you're simply the best: I'm about to go to the studio and record another album with my band but wanted to improve my beloved Gibby R9 ES-335's sound; I play mostly clean(ish) with reverb. I tried Wizz & OX4's, but Wizz lacked "magic", musical clarity and also felt scooped in the upper mids while the OX4's had more organic "magic" & P90-like quality but felt like covered with play-doh in the upper frequencies. Recently I played an original 1959 ES-335 through a 1965 blackpanel Pro Reverb and can't forget the angelic tight and strong sound of those original PAF's and also always dream about Peter Green's organic sound, particularly on "Need Your Love So Bad - USA Version". ES-335's can have slightly brittle bridge PU's that could use a tad thicker filling in the mids and woofy neck PU's that need to be tighter and less soft. Which of the PAF clones you tried would you recommend (NOS parts welcome too) to achieve those illustrious goals and has: tight and strong upper mids, open trebles, rather tight low-mids/bass, being very clear/open, with that tubby/fluty "greeny-magic"? (Can't tell if ReWinds, Stephen's Design, Mojo UK, Doyle Coil, Monty's, and/or others?) I would be so so grateful if you could recommend something, thank you so much! :))
