Until they fix the topological naming issue that blows your model apart when doing something like deleting a chamfer FreeCAD is pretty much useless for serious work. Why they keep adding new features while the basics are totally broken baffles me.

@schrodingerscat18632 ай бұрын
@@Hotwire_RCTrix Yes, I know of this trick but it is hardly a fix when very often your model turns into a total mess after this issue strikes and is impossible to sort out. The RealThunder fork has a reasonably good fix for the problem but when that will get ported to the original project is anyone's guess. At this point I have pretty much given up on FreeCAD and moved to the RealThunder fork full time.

Thanks. I'm learning FreeCAD right now (spent about 10 to 15 hours trying various things) and I sort of wonder if I can use binders to basically share sketches between objects. For example I have box base and lid and I want to create some ports/holes through both parts. So far I tried drawing box as a single object with split, but it's super confusing - it sort of breaks both parts and I may want to edit some features on one half and some features on both (maybe I want subtract venting slots). In the end I came to conclusion that it's likely easier - and also necessity for making snap-on edges - to make two separate solids and share some drawings, but at the same time I need to transform them (rotate, translate, mirror).
@Hotwire_RCTrix2 ай бұрын
@@pavelperina7629 You can use binders to share dimensions between bodies but there are similar issues with the naming changing of topology. Sub binders don't allow you to correct for this. So use shape binders first if you think you may change the parent topology. On top of shape binders you can use Sub binders for all or parts of the shape binder. I hope that makes sense.

@@Hotwire_RCTrix Yes, commentary is greatly appreciated, If people are to learn something, then it's hard to do so trying to follow a mouse and menus one can not easily see, and narration will let you throw in much more detail than you can show in a short time. It also allows you to make analogies, point out possible problems, do's and don'ts... and paint a much more thorough picture, for better understanding. Other than that you are obviously pretty advanced at it than I. I've been trying to get with FreeCad for over a decade, but it's not very intuitive as for the navigation controls and some other stuff with the UI, but I have seen what some can do with it, so it must be very capable to those that can wrap their mind around it. A corporation forked it and made some UI changes, and I heard it's quite good, and much easier to use, but they are also charging for extended use and features. It's called "Ondsel".

I found this hard to follow since I don't use TX companion. You can program this function on the Inputs screen of your radio using the switch as the input and providing a different curve for each. And then adding the inputs to the mixer section to control the desired channels. With a 3 position switch you could control 3 channels or get two functions on one channel and one function on the other.
@Hotwire_RCTrix4 жыл бұрын
Hi Ron It's ages since I made this video but it's likely better if you download TX Companion and play, even if you don't use to program your transmitter. This video is about logical switches and chaining the logic for various output. The audio is necessary to keep track of the logic your TX is set to. If you slow the video down, it's easier to follow, as I think I made it to fast.

Hey, could you help me? I have a battery that has weak C (no idea what real C is but it's well under 25c for 2200mah lipo for a phantom sized copter) and no telemetry at the moment. RTL is set to 10.7volts on 3s. It messes with my flight big time when there are spikes/brown outs. RTL I don't mind because it's relatively safe but when the batt is low in any other mode copter tires to land. The thing is in GPS mode the return is too sluggish (even manual) and autoland function on my copter should be called autocrash since I don't have a rangefiner of any sort and it doesn't seem to detect landings propertly. I did a test and copter fails to maintain hover at 9,5volts. Can I in any way separate the two functions? RTL and Land (I would like it to not try to land -ever) when there's low battery? I would like to leave RTL as is until I set up telemetry but turn off land. Is that possible? When I tried to find it it seems to be connected. I would appreciate if you helped me. Also: how low should I set up low voltage in that case? Thanks in advance

Hello a question, Why is it necessary to set the curves? and what is the recommended for a Tiny whood blade inductrix? Sorry, but I'm new to this, thks..
@Hotwire_RCTrix7 жыл бұрын
Its not essential to use curves but it can be the useful. For example expo on pitch and roll can give you fine control in the center while not restricting the total rotation speed. Most flight controllers now have expo option but not the same choice as you can get from OpenTx config. You can build in a flat into a curve so smal movements are ignored arround stick center. You can switch on and of the effect of the curve while flying. and so on...

Sorry Ronaldo I missread your question. Throttle curves are not really useful unless you have too much power and can't hover. Then you use the single expo to create small initial thr output. Basically a gradual increase in the slope of the curve. Hope this helps.
