Just watched this again last week (free on YT). So good! Comments on this video: 1. Whoa, Tony Hale has a different voice than I expected, and 2. omg, I did not realize that was Tom Hulce! Thanks for posting!

The remake much like the original had me puzzled about women regardless of which society but the first one only barely hinted about a woman into women character which disturbed me when I connected the dots but this one wasn't as secretive instead it was more open about it. Much like the original they should have been more considerate about the innocent children in it.

The reason I hated this movie is because of spike and the actor who played him. Terrible character and casting.

This movie shook me to the core. Guest appearances over Laos and Cambodia 72,73,74. I flew with some Warrants who were in the shit. Our missions were a cake walk compared to the grunts.

I hate to admit it, but I skip the smaltie love story between the young fighter pilot and the young Neisi. The battle is most important.

Did he take you out for a smorgasbord lunch? Otherwise, a bologna sandwich? I hope you didn’t bring up “Cats in the Cradle.” I’m actually going to be watching your film now, so maybe you talk about some of this stuff. 😀🤣🤯🤯

I loved this 2004 adaptation of the original movie. Funny! (Not to mention, a visual delight with great music.) Thank you, Ghosts of VT for this presentation!

My girlfriend lived next door to Admiral Nimitz's widow, Katherine Nimitz, in a townhouse in Berkeley. She was a very gracious whom I had lunch with and got to meet and listen to her stories. As an ROTC cadet I asked her if she saw the film. She replied that she did and that she liked the film and the way Henry Fonda portrayed her husband.

It's funny how the dude with the plans for the Mitsub. A6M Zero on his way back to America with the said plans, disappeared never to be seen again. America was in willful denial. The radar showing there was a serious threat on the horizon was waved off as "geese"...well the US turned out to be the biggest goose. And today, we see the complete collapse of the USA!!!
In the early 1980’s, The U.S. Navy & USMC from 1st Marine Brigade afloat on the Amphibious Readiness Group of the Ships from 32nd Street Naval Station were in the Pacific. We usually transitioned inbound and outbound ARG was typically done at Wake Island or Midway. We also visited islands where serious battles had taken place. These were Iwo Jima and Tinian not to mention the others. Such places were so irie! So many people died and for what??? I felt so privileged to be a young Marine and we visited these historic places that many thanks to my High School History teacher presented to us.

The kind of a short subject picture that goes behind the scenes of making a movie needs to back on theatre screens today instead of the advertisements of local businesses!

I am going to upset some of our American cousins (I am a Brit) with the point I wish to make. That is not my intention, for Midway was the US Navy's greatest victory - although Leyte Gulf runs it a close second - in terms of strategic import and is the American equivalent of Trafalgar for us. However, the assistance given at that critical time by the Royal Navy is little appreciated in the USA. After Pearl Harbor, Hitler declared war on your country. The Royal Navy pledged to protect the eastern seabord of the USA to permit the US Navy to concentrate at that time on the Pacific. Had only one of the American carriers been retained in the Atlantic, Midway may well have been a Japanese victory. Sorry, folks. Midway was a great victory for a great country. Our own navy did however play an indirect role which does not diminish that achievement in any way.

The dyslexia scene should have been left in, it not only shows how and why she knows all the information but why she felt attacked by the female lawyer.

This has always been one of my favorite movies. It had quite an all-star cast. In particular, I enjoyed Glenn Ford as Spruance. "Let's get Hornet and Enterprise turned into the wind."

I'm from Selkirk ( a bit north of Winnipeg) where you shot lots of the scenes and I was also a extra on the set. It was so much fun watching the production and stars. Yup it's cold but you get a badge of honour for doing it. Us locals survive just fine as you learn the respect mother nature. Laughed my head off watching this clip and the talk of the cold that we all take from granted. We'd love you to come back for a visit, our hearts and hugs are warm.

Has to be one of my favorite WW2 movies. Allstars cast and blow the other Midway movie out of the water. This battle is my favorite battle to study.
