What was the fix

Hello, I am trying to find out some technical stuff relating to a feature on my car (car spec) w211 280 CDi Sport Diesel 3L. late 2008 face-lift version ( I have owned the car for 8 years) I love my Merc E class w211 280 CDi sport 2008 I needed a repair on my dashboard binical, the dashboard was dead no functions etc. I managed to get the dashboard repaired. All okay but, the glow plug indicator LED was now not working within the dashboard binical. The repair agent told me this feature has never worked on my w211 face-lift version and has been unavailable on my model / year of car. I told him, I was 100% sure this feature had worked, and pryer to the dashboard failure it was working correctly. Therefore, I am trying to find a Mercedes technical paper / reference or a Mercedes technician with relevant knowledge that can state that this feature is available on the w211 2008 facelift, and the internal main PC dashboard where the LED is located is a version number for this board This repair agent is telling me this feature was discontinued on the model I have indicated above. Can you help with my quest, please? Any help would be of great assistance. I look forward to any communications you might have.

If the fuel injector pass the spray pattern test on the injector tester, does it mean that the injector is also leak proof, if not, how do you carry out the injector leak test? ?

According to BABVVEN and TEBBVEN laws, soon all combustion cars and trucks including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. Car washs will be forbidden too because they are climate killers, now they want to slow down all the gas station pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime.

The Euro headlights look totally great with the Euro bumpers, but with the larger US bumpers, the US headlights look better

I've had the rare pleasure of being a passenger in a R107 about 30 years ago... it was a 280SL... I loved the sumptuous ride but the owner drove it in a very spirited fashion and it held on through the corners like a cat on carpet... quite impressive.

hi, to change the headlight bulb do i have to remove the wiper first to get the headlight out? and if yes, how difficult is it to remove the wiper arm ? i noticed there is a round hole about 2cm diameter under the car, is this for removing the wiper arm? and which tool do i need ? any advise would be appreciated, many thanks

Great cars, I’ve owned my 450SL 1976 since 2011 now and it never misses a bit. I once took it in just over 1,800 miles journey and it only burned 200ml of oil, everything else smooth. Now I’m looking for a R129 preferably SL500

I own a 1979 black with red interior 450sl... I love the car and the memories it invokes of the 9 years I spent in Austria. I would absolutely love to own a right hand drive European spec version though, it would fit so nicely with my gt6 plus and my xjs. Lovely group of cars, thanks for the video

My ‘85 380SL with US specs has 80K miles. Dark navy blue color with light baby blue canvas top. Well maintained with top end overhauled. I’m willing to sell it for $20K flat. 😃

I bought my 500SL 18 months ago. Like Stuart mine sits outside, only mine is on my drive at the mercy of the seagulls and the sea air, but still looks bright and is much admired by delivery people and the posties! Maintenance is key, and daily use keeps all the systems functioning and in good order. And yes, likely the most important aspect of the maintenance on these superbly engineered vehicles is those water drains. Take the time to remove the blower motor cover and the blower motor annually to inspect/ clear the two air plenum drains and hey presto, no rotting bulkhead worries! (or wet feet when you switch on the blower) Many congratulations to Stuart on his recent appointment as model register captain. Stuart's MB Club forum posts gave me the confidence to purchase an R107 and both leave it outside and use it daily.
