I'm not really interested in doing that with a truck though. I'd rather go faster with a more powerful engine.

So awesome to see you got it back on the road! How do you not have any snow up there? We got a nice little storm here in VT the other day. Off topic: How many trans drain and fills have you done since the first video you showed doing that? Still using the valvoline?
@BurninGas8.115 сағат бұрын
Little bit of snow yes and it’s had 4 changes every 100000 I do it

@BurninGas8.1 nice, I'm running the valvoline cvt now too finally. Had been using castrol the past 3 years, but now it's valvoline for everything. Been using their restore and protect motor oil too. That stuff is amazing. I'm sure one day I'll have to do my head gasket, so I'm glad you were able to JB weld those slits. Curious to see updates in the future on how it's holding up. When I do mine I'm going to use the ARP head bolts. Especially since I plan on running ktuner soon. Gotta love the 10th gen civic coupes though. Best looking of that generation in my opinion. Plus honda nolonger makes a coupe for the civics. I'd totally buy the new prelude that's coming out if it wasnt a friggin hybrid.

So, it's a bit unclear... the mew throttle body had play in it and that was the problem? also, i noticed it never closed all the way. is that normal? Mine does not fully close when at resting car off position. I still dont know what my random surging is all about.

I’ve seen wilder on regular roads. That wasn’t fun for the guy in the truck but it definitely ain’t extreme as far as offroading accidents go.

That head gasket blew way before 410,000 KMs. You had a blown spot in between each cylinder. That didn’t happen all at once.

Please research upgrade the headstuds! They are a weakpoint of the engine and nearly that cause of all headgasket issues. Overtime the high boost these engines run at wear out the headstuds and the head separates from the block. There is a ton of pressure running in these tiny engines. There are some really good aftermarket headstud options.
@wadegoodman2337 күн бұрын
These 1.5L run pretty high boost for such a small engine. You can replace the head gasket, but you should also upgrade the headstuds. They wear out and are a weakness point of the engine. What ends up happening is the engine actually starts to seperate from the headgasket seem because the headstuds cant keep up with all that engine pressure. Upgrading them seems to the these issues and even prevent them.

I miss all of my square body Chevy's. All mine went from 73-86. 87 was the 1st yr for fuel injection, so I stayed away from those. I'm trying to find an older chevy suburban so I can haul my workers. 73-86 is what I'm looking for
