I love Henry James, novelist. He certainly captures the realism of love and the disappointment associated with loving someone. The book was just as intriguing. I love the tu chiami una vita. Lovely

Grazie!

In my opinion the 1949 film "The Heiress" starring Olivia De Havilland and Montgomery Clift is much better than this.

Ela a amou e a respeitou.

Coitado.

It's so mind-blowing how different Bruno is in this movie from Eugenio in "Hawaii"! It's like they're played by two different people. A testament to a great actor!

his affection for her is so sudden..yes, she stood up for him and didn't leave him alone in that apartment with Tis and his henchmen, but that hardly justifies his blooming feelings for her. at first i was like, wtf?? this doesn't make any sense. but then he pressed her hand to his lips, and the credits started rolling, and that melancholy music started playing, and... I LOVED IT. the movie is mid but this stupid stupid stupid scene is supreme

Just watched this absolute gem of a film and I'm surprised I've never seen it before. I think the ending was just sublime. The whole movie had a real visceral feel to it and the acting was superb. Willem Dafoe and Susan Sarandon were magic together, and the last scene was a perfect ending to an otherwise bleak and dispiriting movie. It also had an excellent soundtrack too that went so well with the melancholic theme.

This is my favorite gay film. I saw Hawaii, and loved it. Looked up other films by Marco Berger and found this one. I fell in love with it. Everything about it makes you smile. The way they fall in love with each other, the interaction with their friends and common lover, and the last few minutes when it finally become real for them both is the best. Such an awesome film!
