If i may ask a question, why is the angle positive while its a clockwise movement. Based on my textbook (based on Holt Physics), the angle moving clockwise is a negative angle, and here this angle moved from east to south,( like from three o'clock to four o'clock to five o'clock..)which us a clockwise movement, so why was it noted as 25 rather than -25? Also, the y1 component should be negative as it goes down the negative y axis, and the trigonometric function sine (sin) should also represent a negative value in quadrant 4, where the second vector is displayed. 3:04

@@as2riaYou always make angles in physics questions positive as far as I know. I've never come across a problem making you use a negative angle

@@gsas3012 may i ask what your textbook is called? Is it also based on Holt Physics? I have the exact same problem in my textbook, and also i have seen an already solved one, which was the hiker's problem, and the angle was negative, thats why i was confused 😕.

Btw there is an easier approach. We can first solve for vy,I then using the tanget function we can find vi,x then finally we use the pathygreom theorom to find vi
