Hey sorry i didn't have notifications on! I use a brush cleaner from scottys makeup, you'll need something anti-bacterial but shampoo can help clean. (not sanitise though)

When you say thick latex do you mean a thick layer or thick like a paste ?

I mean the actual texture of plain latex with no additives. There are some types of latex that are thin (very runny) and other types that are thick (gluggy) Kryolan do a thick and thin latex.

That might work or try something stronger, pros aide, spirit gum, latex.
