So I WAS understanding. I was loving the political criticism and the way it portrayed society in a sample of students in this chaos. BUT I was trying to get the plot, the narrative, and dindt understood SHIT. Then I thoght I hadn't really got the anime and came to this video where I learnt that I DID understand, I just didn't understand that I DID understand. WTF is this shit!7/10

I actually really like this anime, the only part that i don't like about it is the fact that they have to constantly remind the viewers of what the arrows do even if it's just casually talking about it in the heat of the moment they tell us anyways so we don't get bored when there talking about there philosophies and crap

As an person who is been humiliated, i feel some kind of connection with the character but didn't have same as they have friends who support, although its also good to remain alone 😁❤

After this movie I cried so much. Ugly-cried. Like, full on sobbing and weeping and running nose, and then I was shaky for the rest of the day Unique combination of trauma triggers, feeling being seen, gorgeous and just....ahhh. I love it. Edit: It was the second and third acts especially that got me. Like... I don't even know how to put it into words

I have a friend who is a lot like Komi. She has the worst social anxiety I have ever seen. Often falling silent, or barely getting any words out. We had moments where we sat right next to each other and just texted. And more moments with not saying anything at all. Which does feel awkward at first. But just being there really helped her. Like Komi, she is increnebly lonely at times. She is also very beautifu, so she never really was a target for bullies. But some extroverted people still tease her for it. Which makes her even more uncomfortable. I guess that is one reason she wanted to be friends with me. I never make fun of people like that.

Seemed more of a fever dream than a sensible stroy

Id say that its largely a Buddhist narrative blended with a coming of age story. the "goal" for the whole narrative is essentially to escape the world with the many worlds and effective immortality of the characters being a sort of representation of samsara. Both Hoshi and especially Ms Aki are potential representations of the concept/figure of Mara. later on radjhani mentions Hoshi effectively achieved enlightenment while he chose not to, mirroring the idea of a bodhisattva. at the end, they only enter the real world again acknowledging they will in a sense be giving up the "self" that was formed in the other world and potentially not remember anything at all.

Sk8 isn't realistic when it comes to skating. But it does capture the spirit of it. It's not really an organized sport, like there's competitions and stuff but that's not the end goal of skateboarding. The end goal is to do cool tricks and have fun. And that's what the anime is about. Also renga and matchablossom are canon I don't care what anyone says
