If I migrate my Google Ads setup from a browser container to a server container, should I remove all my Google ads conversion tags, conversion linker and remarketing tag from the browser container, when the server container setup is finished? My understanding is "yes"?

If your goal is to migrate existing conversions to the server, then yes, you will need to remove them from the web container, as the same conversion should work either on the web or on the server. If these are new conversions, the old ones can continue to work on the web and new one on the server.

Hi I'm trying to use Stape Store to enrich my Facebook events. I have some question regarding this awesome feature. First of all, thank you for making this feature so easy to use. It’s fantastic! Questions: 1. Is there any storage limit in Stape Store? 2. How long does it usually take for the data to appear in stape store after 1st purchase? Does it take up to 24 hours? I made a test purchase but didn’t see the data right away. 3. Does each customer create a new document? 4. If a customer makes another purchase after a document is already created, will the data overwrite the existing document or create a new one? 5. When I fetch data from Stape Store, does it count as a request and reduce my request limit? Because I’ve noticed that requests seem to be made for each user data point like email, phone, first name, last name, etc. 6. Is the stape store document creation based on the device/browser? For example, if a customer makes a purchase from one browser (creating a document) and then makes another purchase from a different browser, will it create two separate documents? In this case, since it’s the same customer but different browsers, can I still fetch and link the data to the same user? 7. What is the different use case of Stape Store reStore variable and Stape Store Lookup variable since both are extracting data from stape store. Hi Monir! Thank you for your kind words about our product. Sorry for the late reply. I see you have the same question in our community that already been answered. I will repeat the answer here for general knowledge. 1. Document size should be up to 1 mb, no other restrictions. But requests to the Stape Store are factored in your plan. 2. Stape Store entries happen immediately, make sure your entry tag works as you expect it to. 3. It depends on the method of how you writing to the store and what data you use in document name. If document name is new - a new document will be created. If existing - the old one will be overwritten. 4. If you use a document name for example transaction id - then it is a unique field and a new record will be created. 5. Any request to the Stape Store is a request that is counted towards your container billing requests. 6. This is a database, the document name used is the one you specify in the tag/api call if you use api to send data. 7. In brief - reStore variable can simultaneously fetch data if it is in the database or write it if it is not.

Struggling to understand how to set this up as an agency account for clients. Do I need a different hub for each client? You showed adding pixels from business accounts to 1 gateway but wouldn't that require that all clients server side tracking would only be coming from 1 clients stape signin and 1 clients custom domain? Very confused about that.

An agency account allows you to create and manage your clients' accounts. You can create separate Gateway on your clients' accounts and add pixels individually to each Gateway Hub or add all the pixels to one Gateway Hub, and the data will not be mixed, but sent to respected events managers. But in this case of one Gateway Hub with all pixels, you can set up Data Routing for only one domain and use it for all of them. So you can consider creating a separate CAPI Gateway for each client. There is no Stape-specific configuration and the GTM-sGTM tracking setup does not depend on which hosting provider you are using. But Stape has a set of power-ups that help you set up some features easier and faster. If you want to track such an event, you need to make a custom datalayer and use it.

It depends on what you use as a transport for Meta conversions. In the video, it was Data Tag and Data Client, and in the Data Tag you need to specify your server container url in the corresponding field. If you are using GA4 as a transport, then the server container url should be specified in the Google tag.

Overreporting of server events usually indicates that you have an additional CAPI integration that passes server events. If your site is built on Shopify or WordPress, these may be native integrations that you did not disable after setting up Meta CAPI via server GTM container.

Hello, these videos have been very helpful in configuring my Stape server. However, I believe that the ease of understanding of these videos could be greatly improved. I had to create a diagram and fill in many gaps by taking information from various parts of the video, and I consider myself to be an extremely technical person. Probably a better approach could be to start with a diagram, an initial situation, and a goal, and then proceed step by step starting from scratch with GTM web and server until reaching the solution. It would also be nice if things were explained in detail about what they are and what they are used for, so that we can understand them as well.

Multi-domain power-up allows you to connect multiple domains to your server GTM container. This is usually used if your sites have very similar or the same tracking plan, events, same data layer and this will not change in the near future. It is most often used if the domains differ just in language version and the site remains the same. One of the biggest advantages is the ease of maintenance of the container. for example if you need to introduce a new tracking/advertising platform - you just need to do it once in one container, instead of having to add it to 2, 3 or more containers. Any changes/bug fixes/improvements again need to be done just once. So it saves a lot of time and effort. Unfortunately, if you are using a custom loader, you will not be able to generate a custom loader code for a domain that is not added to the container on Stape.

I've a Stape business plan. My CMS is Shopify and I'm using custom event to enable datalayer instead of Stape's plugin. Will this work on theme independent datalayer? Also I don't see Google Ads cookie _gcl_aw in the cookie list. Should I add this cookie in the cookie keeper?

Yes, of course you can use your data layer without any restrictions. _gcl_aw is a web conversion linker cookie, so it is used if you have Google ADS running in a web container. When using Google ADS on a server container, the FPGCLAW and FPGCLGB cookies are used - they are in the list of standard Cookie Keeper cookies for Google ADS. But of course you can add any other cookie you want to the list of cookies that Cookie Keeper restores. So if you want to use web tracking for Google ADS - you need to add _gcl_aw as a custom cookie.

Say in extreme cases like Safari private browsing ITP which strips the gclid, I'm assuming this breaks conversion linker even server side? Is it possible to pass the gclid in those cases via a custom google ads tracking template or other similar method to the sGTM so the cookie can be set?

No, if the browser cuts the gclid you can't get it somehow. The only solution here is for Google, following the example of other platforms, to allow you to specify a custom url parameter name for click id. That way it won't be subject to these restrictions. But so far that hasn't happened.

It doesn't matter how you set up your Pixel events. The main thing is that they are set up. Meta Conversions API Gateway works based on the data that Meta pixel sends. It means that every time when CAPIG sees event triggered by Meta pixel, it sends server events.

The standard recommendation for GA4 is to use a trigger for just all GA4 events. That is, you need to use a trigger without a specific event name, just with the condition client name = GA4 (or whatever your GA4 client is called).

Web GTM is sending data to GA4 and server-side is also sending data to the same GA4 property, is there a duplicate in data? You do not need a new GA4 property for server-side tracking. GA4 does not support hybrid tracking (i.e. sending both web and server events for deduplication), the source of events must be one, either web or server. GA4 in server-side format works as a proxy. Data is not changed in any way, nothing happens to it (unless you have specially configured it, which is usually very rarely done), requests are simply redirected further to GA4.

No, the tag does not set cookies as it is intended to use this as an offline conversion. You need to save the cookie and pass it to the tag. It is usually most convenient to set the required cookie with the CookieMonster tag on the server container. Check if the url has the ‘msclkid’ parameter (Bing click id) and if it does, save its value.
