Clever drive system! PS-I probably can’t help you with your big cut out project here, because Send Cut Send is going to pretty much have the market cornered on economical shipping, but if you have any ideas that would fit inside those USPS flat rate boxes, I have a CNC plasma and would be happy to ship stuff your way. I typically charge 3x material cost to cover my time and wear and tear on the equipment. But again, if it won’t fit in a flat rate box, SCS will be WAY cheaper.

Hey Ian, I caught the bead roller video and then checked out your brake build here. Really clever design, and it looks like it produces a clean bend. Moves smoother than my second hand Grizzly brake. 😂 Thanks for the comment over on my channel, and look forward to seeing more tool mods!

Looks like you're on the right path. I too have the same bead roller and really enjoyed watching Tony Fitzpatrick "Fitzee" 's videos on his modifications. Thanks for sharing your progress. Subscribed.

I'm glad that theres someone talking about different metals used for roll cage building. Another metal that I've read about being an alternative to Chromoly & Docol r8 is 15CDV6. Do you have any knowledge on that kind of steel?
@MWGarage
@MWGarage 3 ай бұрын
No I don't, but as far as I am aware the North American sanctioning bodies only allow mild steel, 4130 or Docal. I know Docal is not allowed in the UK as it is seamed tubing. They use T45 I believe.

Would it really have been that hard to just narrate this yourself, video uploader? Lazy. Nobody wants to hear AI narration.

I was just trying it out and have since decided not to use AI. But it is better than the many supposed tech help channels that have no narration.

Hi Mike, the status is not great. Other health issues basically put paid to to much to getting too much done. The big thing just now is getting the shop cleaned up to give me some room to work. THEN we are going to have at it as I am feeling so much better this year.

If my front spring rate is originally 7” with 8k spring rate and I want to go to 5” should I double the spring rate to accommodate the drop?
@MWGarage
@MWGarage 11 ай бұрын
I'm not an expert in this but I would think you leave the spring rate the same. There are many other things to consider when lowering the car 2". Is it FWD? If so what is it going to to the driveshaft angle? Is the lower ride height going to cause issues on track or going into driveways? Are you lowering all round? If front only what is the effect of the rake that the car now has?

I think lower springs/reduced suspension travel will require stiffer spring to avoid bottoming out, or destroy shocks. 7 to 5 inch 7/5=1,4 the longest spring is 40% longer, 40% stiffer spring 8*1,4= 11,2k
