Can u also show us what settings to have on our amplifier to work best with these songs
@GijsMusicAcademy11 күн бұрын
I will in my future videos. It's important to understand that different guitars have different sounds. In this song i play on a Strat with single coils (the pickups). I use my neck and middle pickup to have a bell sound. On my amp i used these settings: Clean sound. Bass: 4, middle 4,5, treble: 5 and reverb.

Ur video teached me alot and i dont have a guitar can u explain why some notes are between parentheses?
@GijsMusicAcademy11 күн бұрын
Hey! That's nice. I try to explain it to you. It might sound a bit theoretical, but the most important thing is that you understand what to play! The numbers in parentheses () don’t need to be plucked again-just let them ring out. A bit more theory behind this: In music, we divide songs into measures (bars) that are usually counted in groups of 4 beats. Melodies don’t always fit perfectly within one measure and sometimes carry over into the next. If a note (or tab in this case) is placed just before a measure line, it might not be clear that it should ring out longer because each measure is limited to 4 beats.

@GijsMusicAcademy4 ай бұрын

@GijsMusicAcademy5 ай бұрын
Hey! Groeten, Gijs

Dear Gij, Watching your show, I just taught myself the introduction to "Hells Bells." It's unbelievable how simple some of these riffs are and yet how iconic they became. Sometimes it's the simplest things in life that become so iconic. I'm 65 and only been playing a little over 2 years. I can't tell you how much I appreciate you slowing the pace down and naming the string and fret numbers as you teach. It makes it all so easy. You're one of the best instructors I've EVER seen on youtube. Thank you. 🙏❤️🕊️✝️

Hello Lemont, thank you for your kind comment! I totally agree with you about that simple things can become iconic, not everything has to be complex to be successful! I hope I can help more people like you with my tutorials or my online guitar method! Gijs

How to play slither
@GijsMusicAcademy2 ай бұрын
That’s hard to tell because this is different for everyone. Most of the time you can play smoother by playing the notes with less pause in between. That’s hard, you have to practice small parts of the riff and then glue it together. Practice slow and build it up to normal speed!
@adamthomasson34011 ай бұрын
One of your notes is wrong. After the run of 3-2-1 on the E string (bars 6-8), you need to play D#, not D (play 4th fret on the B string, not the 3rd fret). I wouldn't advise playing the bass note at the start of those bars either.
@GijsMusicAcademy2 ай бұрын
Hey Thomas, thats right. It has to be the 4th fret in the b-string instead of the 3rd fret. I advise to play the bass note on the first beat, so it’s easier for beginners to play. When you play the guitar or instrument for a longer time (like you do), you can skip this note.

I have great eyes, I see the string moving loose, so you did not wind differently!
