The Mac is finally detected in Windows PC but when I put it credentials it always says incorrect user name and password. I can assure you that I am putting in the correct userId and password. Please help. Also the shared option is not shown in the finder. When I navigate to Network folder my PC shows up but it just wont connect.

Great tips! what do you do if none of those changes hold? ie changing the category value in Regedit, when the user is set as Admin? we have a new router and it wants to stay in Public mode, it seems. I dont know why when it is for home use. nothing I try to do is working. if I can change the network, it only holds for a few seconds or minutes and then when I change screens or try to reboot to fully implement any changes, I find anything has gone back to how it was, in this case, that means my Wifi is set back to Public. thank you so much
