Such a great conversation! I'm shocked by how many foundations put their 5% required annual distribution (or some portion thereof) into DAFs. A true copout and a black hole for getting capital where it is needed.

Fascinating interview. Especially Rojas's break down of the three false & dangerous ways that people think about philanthropy's mandate vs the government's social services mandate. Keen observations. Thanks for another great episode!

Priscilla making some great points here about why wait to until problems get worse before foundations give away money that has already been pledged to go philanthropically. Why always disperse only the MINIMUM mandated by law each year? In what way is giving out a mere 5% & holding onto the other 95% every yr doing your best to address the problem?
