Glad you guys enjoy hearing it run. Dyno Don Nicolson built the engine in the 1960,s and sold it to john Jones and was campaigned in a funny car and the car sold and engine stored for years. It is not a runner due to the value and colorful history My contribution was building the rolling chassis for the project, which I greatly enjoyed. Them were the days.

Thank you for helping build something so nice and amazing as this car right here. Also thank you for helping preserve history with this car as many of my generation never got to see this cars in their hayday or in person up until cacklefests became a thing and then more and more of these cars started reappearing for the first time in decades Also are you and James McCoy brothers because I remember Seeing both of you Guys names on the back of the car in the Special Thanks section

This thing has its own unique sound on nitro. Not quite the same as the 392/426 Chrysler Hemis of the day. Also, a big block Chevy on nitro also has a distinctly different sound as well.

@geraldhague61703 жыл бұрын
this motor was one best ford made but the bottom end was weak &i got that strait from a guy i know who used to have in his dragster but after lil tweaking some modifications it was tough to beat untill those hemi guys from Chrysler started crying the blues so NHRA banned it from competition in early days

Why don't they pop those out those the 394 hemi they have now? It would cost a lot but you could get 10,000 hp. It would be fun to see something other than the cookie cutter cars they have now. Drag racing is kind of boring now, they don't even go a 1/4 mile.

That's one pretty car. Wasn't it nice when every dummy with a Honda wasn't always talking about HP numbers. So many old cars never rolled onto a dyno and the mystery of it is just fine. All you need to know is that it's probably more power than the old slicks can handle and that's plenty.kids today are warped into thinking if you aren't putting a thousand to the wheels then you don't have anything special and most would be crying if they ride in something with a legitimate few hundred HP.
@fortcrafterbossbehold90273 жыл бұрын
Fun fact, as a JDM and vintage dragster guy I can confidently say, it was never Honda guys who used to blabber about HP numbers. In fact they get ostracized twice as much as the vintage muscle guys since they only have small 4 cylinders as they can only afford little fuel (I wanted to get a Honda Civic from the early 90s, stock, but I didn't because the car community would never let me live it dow). Those responsible behind this trend are actually the high end JDM guys (Supra's and Skylines) and modern domestic muscle boys (Mustang 5.0 and ESPECIALLY the Dodge Hellcat dudes)...

It's too bad braking and tire technology didn't keep up with this engine. I WOULD have loved to see this go up against the Hemis in Nascar in the 60s.
