my 2022 BRZ w/ 17k miles has been making this exact sound for about the last 4k miles but only when completely warmed up and hot. It's currently back for warranty work for the 3rd time. The first 2 times they replaced the pedal assembly which did nothing, now they're replacing the clutch master cylinder. Before taking it in the first time I greased all moving parts/pivots on the pedal assembly. I also greased the slave cylinder rod under the dust boot, no luck. I'm hoping it not the throw out bearing carrier but suspect that's the real issue.

For those who got this problem, i know how to fix it. It started when I wanted to change the clutch fluid. I put some ATE typ200 and i found out porsche owners have the same noise problem with this fluid. I decided to change it to some motul dot3&4 and the noise goes away! It was like the ate fluid was too "dry" compared to the stock fluid and motul product.

I got a 2018 brz and still stock (35 000km). I got THE SAME noise and i am pretty sure it comes from the top hat, too... Did you fix it? If not, did you have any trouble when driving? I don't have any trouble, everything is fine but i am a bit worried about this clicking noise...

I changed out the top hats to new ones and it went away for a very short period of time but ultimately came back. So now I just live with it, it is annoying and causes me to refrain from turning my wheel to full lock sometimes, but as far as if it's causing any damage, I don't think so if it's just the top hat.

Don't know why it happens. I'm pretty confident it's coming from the top hat and started after I put on lowering springs. I even replaced the top hat, but the clicking came back shortly afterwards. Are you lowered on springs as well?

@@oxyg3n520 mine is lowered on springs yes, the last owner had it cambered but returned it back to stock, it also has a custom sway bar in it. I’ve had it looked at left and right at 2 shops and they can’t figure out what the issue is. One of the end links on my sway bar was loose due to an installation issue from the Subaru dealership, which in turn did help for a little while once we got the right bolt and tightened it. But the sound is back again and super frequent

I had this on my stock suspension and when i installed the new ones the sound didn't go away.. it is when i am going over bumps i hear clicking sounds it's driving me mad

@@GR-86i still hear it, took it to toyota and they said nothin was wrong. i do drive my car a lot, and have grown to just ignore it lol. lots of people say these cars makes all sorts of noises that are normal haha

@@GR-86 yeah it was connected with the steer they replaced it and the sound did go away, try steer your car left and right in neutral if you hear the sound it's the same problem

I'm almost certain that it's coming from the top strut mount hat, replaced it with a new one, but the issue came back again shortly. Now I'm just living with it T_T

To anyone this might concern, my 2020 brz has this same problem and I just got it back from a warranty fix. It still squeaks even after the repair, I think it’s just how the car is made. Good luck guys

Ive recently been reading about the BRZ chirp, Ethanol content keeps popping up. Saying that BRZ fuel pump isn't made for ethanol. Ive been running 0% ethanol my whole duration of ownership until now and it only made that noise once. That time was when I rushed out too fast and didn't let the car warm up.
