I went on photo tours just like this at great basketball venues 30 years ago. Used a classic Nikon FM2 35mm and climbed to the rafters to get panoramic photos at Rupp, Pauley, Freedom Hall, Joyce ACC at Notre Dame, Indiana's Assembly Hall, the Rosemont Horizon, the Palestra, Cole Fieldhouse, Milwaukee Arena, Tennessee's Stokely Center and a dozen others. Back in the day I would have had to take my work to a publisher and pitch a coffee table photo book. Today you're online with fantastic images and terrific commentary. Fine job.

Albertsons Stadium is the worst. Even improvements are poor. Scarce facilities for rest rooms and food service are third world. Seat location signame is just plain stupid. it's truly a third world experience for those familiar with other stadiums. I guess Boise folk don't get out of town much.

Isn't Stanford just the name of the University located within the city of Palo Alto?
@StadiumsoftheWorld102 ай бұрын
It is basically Palo Alto. However, the area Stanford is located in is outside of Pal Alto.
@eduardolay1232 ай бұрын
That's interesting, I had no idea. I went to Paly (PAHS) which is exactly across the street from Stanford on the other side of El Camino Real and never knew Stanford was unincorporated to Palo Alto.

Where is the tunnel that visiting teams use?
@StadiumsoftheWorld102 ай бұрын
When I was there, it looked like they came out of the Southwest tunnel. On the opposite side of the stadium from the student section. Wisconsin came out on the North side

It's barely 25 years old and it is a very modern sleek ball park. So, why are the Diamondbacks unhappy and wants a new stadium, bad enough that they are threatening to move??

Explain the illogic of MLB. We must build smaller and smaller stadiums. Thirty thousand capacity in the proposed stadiums in TB and LV. At the same time, rip out seats in perfectly fine stadiums like Cleveland's. Dumb.

Good information overall on the 'new' A's' home for what looks to be 3 years. That said, the sound quality isn't great, in that it is uneven; I'd suggest a Røde or similar external mic when you are in post-production.

Al Davis has gotta be looking down on his son smiling. Mark made a wise move moving the Raiders to a more lucrative market. I’m sure East Bay die hards will disagree on that. But the reality is that the Raider brand became much bigger than the city of Oakland. Oakland used to be a great blue collar city. Yet unlike other blue collar cities like Pittsburgh, Oakland has failed to diversify and adapt to changing economic conditions. Whereas Pittsburgh has seen a bit of a revival by evolving from the steel mills to robotics.

Not easy for Oakland because they have to share the same metropolitan area with San Jose (Silicon Valley) and San Francisco and they have all the money nowadays. A little bit of the "tech bro" wealth is spilling over to Oakland but not enough.

I see a lot of paralells of the situation today vs what happened to the Kansas City A's in the 60s. I want to see some solidarity between fans the next time the A's play the Royals.

I live 18 mins away from Chase Field. I have been there a lot, and I just love it. Probably my favorite part of it, is the pool. Never been there, but as of right now, Chase Field is the only MLB stadium that has one. Also, they dont open it that much either, because the roof has a big issue, and they dont want to open it when fans are inside

Fishstix, the worst owner in professional sports, never re-signs the good players on the team. Anyone good is traded for prospects instead of paying market value to keep them. Winning is not important. Getting a MLB revenue sharing check and keeping payroll as low as possible is important. Fishstix doesn’t have the financing to build a new stadium in Vegas. He’s at least $500 million short and has been searching for mystery investors for over a year and there is zero interest. This is the same crap he pulled in Oakland before he ran away from a Howard Terminal stadium deal. Fishstix does not want to pay to build a stadium anywhere which is why he’s dragging this clown show out in Sac at a minor league park where the team can play for free rent. That’s all you need to know about this ass. He’s a fraud and a joke.

They don't need to replace this stadium. They need to start broadcasting the games locally and quit trying to squeeze every penny from subscribers to cable. That way people can follow the team and care about them.
@SunshineCarpetCleaning6 ай бұрын
Absolutely, I'm in complete accord. Their greed has noticeably increased of late. Moreover, they've ceased accepting cash within the stadium. All payments, including those to the hotdog sellers roaming the stands, must now be made exclusively via credit card. It seems as though they're intent on monitoring every single cent we spend.
