These psalms-with-pictures are just wonderful; can’t tell you how much they are appreciated. In the past few nights I have begun sitting with them with my daughter, who is about to turn 10, during our prayer/meditation time. I hope that you’ll continue to share them even now that Advent is over? Writing with gratitude & wishing you a very merry Christmastide from Vancouver, Canada 🇨🇦

Catholics worship very, very evil people from the past. I don't know why you would love killers and suppressors. Just to be in paradise. Let me ask you this: Would you still love them if the promise of heaven isn't a thing?

This is so great! But why omitted the Benedictus qui venit? One of the conservative features of the 1560 LPP Communion Service was it retained the Benedictus after the Sanctus, as it was in the 1549 Mass.

Many thanks for joining us on our live-stream. And thank you for your correction. Indeed 1560 has the Benedictus, even though 1559 omits it.

Is that actually Merbecke's setting for the Gloria? Gee whiz I sang the Gloria for years thinking I was singing Merbecke and it sounded a lot different.
@traceyedson9652

Well, I think not all the intervals in most of the settings were quite right. But it was sung earnestly & with good tone.

This sounds like Ash Wednesday. Is this the usual psalm for today, too? Caught me by surprise. Very nice to hear chant done so well. We sing Compline every other Wednesday after choir rehearsal, chanting psalm in Anglican chant or in plainsong. Such a good way to close the evening.

Nice to see this service in Latin. Taken from an article by Francis Young on You Tube.. Just as earlier Acts of Uniformity had safeguarded the position of Latin in the liturgy, so Section 14 of the Act of Uniformity 1662 authorised the use of Latin, Provided alwaies that it shall and may be lawfull to use the Morning and Evening Prayer and all other Prayers and Service prescribed in and by the said Booke in the Chappells or other publique places of the respective Colledges and Halls in both the Universities in the Colledges of Westminster Winchester and Eaton and in the Convocations of the Clergies of either Province in Latine Any thing in this Act contained to the contrary notwithstanding.
