Great job, I do have a question. Why would you not want to do something like a piano hinge across entire inside width? My thinking is as long as you are dumping level or straight per say, its not a problem. but if you back up and say the back is at a angle and you begin dumping, the contents will naturally want to move to the lower side and puts more force on that side and possible will make the bed twist to some degree. The piano hinge gives it more support across the whole width than just 2 pin locations.

Those pieces get into the animals hoof fracjs and nostrils and eyes and ears. How is that safe. And after continued use work it's way into their skin folds and cause abscesses.

It depends what you have available. Sand is the cleanest for freestalls

Sand is rarely if ever used here in ireland. Its extra work putting it in and scraping it out and it causes more trouble when its in the slurry pit. Some American farms seem to be sand processing plants with a dairying sideline. Why not use cubicle mats? Scrape them down and give them a handfull of cubicle lime (not ground limestone) Comfort for the cow, convenience for the farmer

Hey there quillins Bros.... How do u like the JD Moco??? Tyler just dropped our new 13ft c400 off Monday never had a JD....always ran the new Holland mowers but made the switch last fall and ordered one for this year and just finally got it... Any good advice I should know about them?? We didn't get a flail machine, I ordered one with the V10 steel rolls because of all the Sudan grass we chop he said not to get the flails because it would wrap up on them...

It has been one of the best discbines we have had. Previously had two new hollands, first one work good. Traded for new one it worked horrible and fell apart. We never had any wrapping issues even when we have Sudan grass. Steel rolls are the best but we have a lot of stones and tree lines as years ago we had rolls and regularly got stuff jammed in them.

Wall looks great, you can get top dollar$, s for the old barn stone, landscapers use them for projects on high end homes. Hard to get them any more, in Ohio we pay up to 100$ each, if they're perfect rectangular up to that much/linear foot! Keep up the great work, we need farmers!

Thank you for your thoughts. Most stones were not in good shape and ones that were good my brother used at his house.

We put wood on frame so when the silage bed is mounted on the truck it protects the frame when we are bouncing through a rough field preventing metal on metal contact.
