Influenced? Some of the moves by Michael Jackson are a direct copy of Bob Fosse in this film. I only found out about this film when I saw a Bob Fosse documentary.

Oooh those threads I can definitely see how it'll influence MJ as well as some of those dance moves. Holy moly. I know he got some moves off Charlie Chaplin too. not the moonwalk has been a thing way before this film. Here's a clip of a Mexican young man doing a standing still moonwalk around 1943 filmed in Mexico watch?v=-LiGnmwDElA&t=138s

This movie is from 1974 but The billy jean song didn’t come out till the 1980’s. Jackson was open about Fosse influencing his dance moves for his Thriller Album.

Original meaning is Run away slave and also the slaves who were up late at night under the moon light playing drums and singing late at night after their 12 to 16 hour days working in the fields. The urban dictionary version is run by white people who think it's a racist word cause some southern racist still twist it as being negative. My term of using it is is I'm never going back to the racist dirty jobs in warehouse and construction ever again. Work for myself with. my independent freedom.

Wow, you can really seen the DNA of MJ’s Billie Jean dance in Bob Fosse’s dance. i wonder why MJ never quoted Fosse as an influence like he did with Astaire, Kelly, and Brown.

This video reminds me of what was supposedly attributed to what Isaac Newton once said about his achievements: "If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of Giants." I think MJ was a talented performer who took things to another level, even though he was inspired and influenced by and adopted some of the dance moves of his predecessors. There is no shame in that. (We all know, for example, that MJ did not "invent" the moonwalk.)
