Nice idea for video. I might do something like this for solo games. If you ever wanted to return to the idea of removable tops, you could use cone-shaped holes in the bottom of each board rather than cylindrical holes. These would be easier to "find" when you can't see the bottom of the board, wouldn't tend to break pegs, and would auto-center once you're close to the right position.

SO NICE!!!!!! Jealous of that laser:)!!!!!! I got a table saw so thats something. Thanks for the link!!!!! I may have to buy that!!!!!! I'd like a laser for sci fi terrain even though I don't play much. It would be AMAZING for scaffolding or external supports to structures. Man I couldn't handle it if I couldn't work with super glue. Its just so central to the hobby!!!! Loving all the hard work your putting into your channel. It makes me want to work on mine again. GREAT JOB!!!!!
@thetabletopengineerplays5 күн бұрын
The only way I can use super glue these days is to put on a full-face breather (which I have) AND put a fan blowing towards me which carries the fumes away. It works, but it's not comfortable. But it beats the alternative which is a swelled up face for three days. It's horrible. The laser does come in handy for my hobbies at times like this... but a tablesaw will cut through 1/4 wood so fast, it's just as good.

Excellent gameplay! Those Giant Rats get really annoying, but at least you can add them to the Combat Tracker to gain the periodic permanent increases to characteristics and skills. Regarding backtracking, you still need to follow the normal turn sequence for each room (move down on the time track, choose exit, skip drawing a new area, go to previously explored room, move on the time track, spend oil or check for wandering monsters, etc).

Great series! I am glad you have decided to tackle this amazing (but daunting) game. It is a little too complicated to easily convey the intricacies. It is also a very difficult game to master. If I may, here are a few ideas that may help: - Combat is simultaneous - if they aren't trying to Escape, monsters still get to attack one more time "after" they die, as "they were still... alive when they died... :) and went down fighting". - AV does not change immediately after you kill one or more of the Pack. The current Pack-boosted AV value "sticks around" for one more enemy attack (the same as above - you and the enemies attack "at the same time") for the current combat round. Only during the next combat round will the enemy AV be reduced, because the number of enemies left in the Pack is counted only at the beginning of a new combat round. - An enemy with I/W/P rewards for Kill allows for a roll on only one of these tables after it is defeated (i.e. you cannot get one Item, one Weapon and one Part - you have to choose one). Please check the rules, but I believe this is how it works (a "/" means "or", not "and" in D100 Dungeon). - Here is the complicated bit: :) Rolling a 10 or less on any Skill test (even a failed one) allows you to shade one pip on the Characteristic involved (STR, DEX or INT) or two pips on any of the Skills involved. For example, any Test of STR + Strong, or INT + Aware, or any combination [CHA]+[Skill(s)], with a D100 roll of <=10, will allow you to shade one pip on [CHA] or two pips on one of the [Skill(s)] involved in the test, but not both. However :), if the CHA or Skill involved in the test have their star shaded (they are "attuned" according to the Hero Path), you earn double the number of pips shaded for d100 rolls <=10 (i.e. if Strength is your star characteristic and you roll <=10 on a STR test, you can now shade two pips on STR instead of one. Also, if for example you got Strong as a race skill (Dwarf) and shaded its star, any <=10 roll now allows you to shade four pips on Strong if you rolled <=10 on any test that involves Strong). This is essential for allowing you character to survive the later quests by increasing CHA/Skill +5 for every ten pips shaded (up to a maximum of 80 for unmodified STR/DEX/INT and a maximum of 20 for Skills). Phew... it's really easy, isn't it? :)) - Please stop making your life so hard with the Surprise enemy ability - they do not automatically get to strike first, because you can test INT-10 + Aware (IIRC) and, with a lucky roll, not get surprised and proceed with combat normally. And, who knows, you may even roll 10 or less and shade one pip on INT or two pips on Aware. :) - During the town phase, you can buy 21 needed items (20 + REP). Again, you are making the game a little harder than it has to be by limiting yourself to only 20. - Unfortunately, you cannot roll on all the tables between quests. If you only have 1 REP, you have to choose only one table, because you can only roll once. - Check for damage pips on any item you find in any dungeon by rolling a D6 as stated just under Spell Caster on the Character Sheet . No weapon or armor found in D100 Dungeon is perfect, it always has at least one pip of damage when found. Their sell value also drops by [Repair value] multiplied by the number of damage pips. On the plus side, the ones you buy in town are always in perfect shape. :) Every piece of equipment and every weapon can take five points of damage before it is destroyed (including pieces of armor with A0 - never underestimate their ability to save your life just because they have zero armor - they can take damage during a hit to that location on your body and protect your skin. You can just shade pips on their damage track instead of reducing your precious hit points, and repair the equipment in town (or discard it when destroyed). What's not to like about extra HP for your adventurer? :) ) If necessary to save some HP, you can even use your weapon as protection when you are hit in your Main Hand, by shading its damage pips and repairing it in town after finishing the quest. - You can always deflect damage [no matter what location was hit] to your Shield up to its S value per hit - for every 1 point of damage deflected by the Shield, shade 1/2 damage pip on the Shield. In short, if my very basic math is correct, any shield offers protection equivalent to 10 extra HP in combat before it is destroyed. Please check the rules to make sure I am not wrong. - Kill all the monsters you can, even Giant Rats, and add them to the Combat Tracker. This is the only way to get guaranteed increases in STR, INT and DEX, Skills, HP, etc. - All the equipment names (especially the weird French-sounding armor pieces) are actual medieval terms (most of French origin) for those specific pieces of armor. [for instance, from Wikipedia: Chausses (/ˈʃoʊs/; French: [ʃos]) were a Medieval term for leggings, which was also used for leg armour; routinely made of mail and referred to as mail chausses.] I hope I was not too annoying, but maybe these "tips" can make your life easier, especially if you also want to go for D100 World Builder. It took me a very long time to understand the mechanics of this game... I look forward to watching your D100 Dungeon adventures and I hope you will manage a full campaign. All the best from Bucharest! :) edited: spacing, typos, more info. I really need to stop now! :)

In Book 2, there's a new rule you can use to avoid the exact situation where you punch through hundreds of rats looking for three pieces of armor, etc. Basically, less than 0 it says: "Scoring 0, or less: Roll 2d10+15 and look up the result on the current encounter table." It has another one for later dungeons where people get stuck having the encounter constantly adjusted to above 100.
