Heckling, vicious attacks and comedic framing vs a Patriotic passionate man who fought for Britain.

Fascinating. So much nuance. Mosley, a man out of his time. A very able intellect who crapped on his legacy by being corrupted by imitating National Socialism. The programme seemed a set up with Frost barely hiding his contempt but initially encouraging Mosley to convict himself with his own speech. A carefully selected audience there to make clear to the watching audience that Mosley and his supporters were an aberration. I wish it were true but I fear such an undercurrent is never too far away.

I hadn't noticed before that Frost had a weak eye & dropped eyelid. Might have been a stress response to being so close to Moseley.

Mosley's opinion about the cause and consequences of WW2 have since been supported by historian David Irving'a research showing that Churchill was kept from bankruptcy in 1936 by selling out to the Jewish lobby that wanted war with Germany. Churchill refused the generous German peace proposal in 1936.

I have always been horrified by his existence. During the rise of the fascists in 20’s and 30’s his beliefs which included anti-Semitism was like a match to gasoline. Besides many of his others activities he organized riots which is nothing any sane person could admire. Yes, was an intelligent man who also was a notorious ladies man. I was happy to see his looks had left him.

Can somebody for god’s sake comment about the content of the interview instead of the totally tired and predictable yammering about how standards have dropped? There was a ton of crap on TV back then but guess what!? Nobody is posting it now … because it was crap. But you guys are so ready to clutch your pearls that doesn’t occur to you. (Buckley was full of umms and errs, by the way. And so were many others.) So: What do you think about what the fascist actually said?
@acommonloser3 күн бұрын
Depends on what you mean - What do I think of the words he says or what do I think about him being the person saying them ? Because , I guess obviously, I think he's full of shit ! Though some of his platitudes carry that lovely little ring of noble principles many politicians like to claim they espouse, this catchall "I only wish for good and if I did bad it was for good reason" concentrated and bottled for easy consumption noble ideology (without an ingredient list on the back). You could probably find some nodding along if he wasn't the one speaking - which makes him either charismatic or dangerous, or both.

The comments section shows a lack of media literacy. THIS GUY WAS HITLERS FRIEND. He was arrested by Churchill AGAINST the law, because he was that much of a threat to democracy. Do not be deluded this guy speaks like Trump does now. He justifies his mask from fascism with "good for the people"

Aka British natives shut up and let my people colonise you. Kamala represent open borders. You weaponise the word racism to gaslight British natives into letting Islamic colonisers illegally settle in our land every single day… and we pay for them …. If you think this is okay then you too are a coloniser

Imagine suppressing natives for talking about their children being groomed and colonised….funny you don’t like it when European natives have a voice do you. In addition to your attempt to suppress natives and free speech and downplaying native rights…. You’re literally the morons that create this division with your far left attack against white natives Europeans and them having an equal say to brown and black native…. create racism wImagine thinking it’s okay to colonise white natives because they’re white Christians whilst being vehemently against white Jews illegally settling in Palestine….

I love the idea the world could not absorb output in the 1930s when 99% of the world at that time had almost nothing. Pure Kenesian nonsense. After WW2 all of the infrastructure of Europe needed rebuilding. There is never a shortage of things that need making or doing. As for the "heckling" it is clearly a pre-arranged tactic with the makers of the programme. The audience is also clearly packed, a tactic used later for the BBC's "Question Time" and "Any Questions". Frost steps in only to tell the man in the front row "You are making his (Mosley's) case for him", thereby ending any idea he is an honest broker. He then allows shouting over Moseley's answers all through the show, something in tv in the 1960s in the UK that was unheard of. Frost also runs with "everybody knows you are antisemetic" line which is of course up there with "When did you stop beating your wife" and unanswerable. How did they know?
