That soundtrack is 1940's rock and roll. Kicks ass. Beautiful railroad. Excellent modeling. Might have to sub to this channel.

You have a wonderful selection of F-units and steam locos running on your fabulous layout. I have an HO scale brass T-1 from Overland Models, Inc., what "importer/manufacturer" are your T-1s from? 👉 04:17

This is not my layout but I believe a couple of the T1s are BLI, not sure about the brass ones

The landscape on the layout looks so realistic. I like the weathered paint scheme on the engines...nice work. Your background music for this video nice. 👍

The landscape on your layout is fabulous! The engines, including the F-units are beauties. I also like the rolling stock. I like your choice of background music. I enjoyed watching. 👍

In a world full of modern Union Pacific and graffitied cars, it’s refreshing to see some good ole Pennsy equipment.😊

@landonthetrainАй бұрын
not sure what mp it is but they join at the West end of allentown yard and again infront of bethlehem union station
@NortheasternRailroadsАй бұрын
@@landonthetrain thank you for the help I read that the reading line sees around 65 trains a day closest spot I can see that kind of action is in Bethlehem I’m in csx territory and see around 20 a day
@landonthetrainАй бұрын
@@NortheasternRailroads altoona sees that many, Reading line might see half that but still good

Neither rain, nor snow or sleet or the dark of night keeps the trains of the Pennsy from making their appointed rounds!

Thank you for that shot in the opening. I'm working on a similar scene (not located in Pennsylvania though) and was very interested in that rock wall.

In 1956, I found myself as an 18-year-old rail fan in Eastern PA. I was in a small-town coffee shop/ whatever store enjoying a morning cup of jo. when just 30 feet from the store was a PRR heavily used branch line. And then came a very loud barking sound from two I-1s on the point of a heavy coal train. The large plate glass window of the shop began to shake as did my coffee cup rattle on the saucer damn near falling on the floor. In many steam loco books there are captions under photos...."they shook the ground". Well, this is not an exaggeration as it was the huge energy from the sound causing the rattling and shaking. The many shots of the "Hippos" in this video remind me of that day. Oh, to go back in time.....just for a day!!!!

Great memories of my layout. While nowhere near as nice as yours, I had a point-to-point layout That I would switch. I also modeled PRR, RDG, Erie and my college club's railroad. Period was steam.

I may get flak for this... what am I saying? Of course I will. But if this is a layout with sound, I'd rather hear that than the Big Band Music overlay... IMHO
@landonthetrain2 ай бұрын
I 100% agree with you but there were over 10 other people operating the layout with me so the noise from talking is stronger than the sound of the trains.

Great looking layout, however there are many old Fathers of the P & LE line rolling over in their graves. PRR screwed over PGH and western PA on freight charges in the 19th century. The same freight from Philly to PGH was LESS than PGH to Philly. It was cheaper to send crude oil to Cleveland and refine it there, and ship out from Cleveland. The B&O were very helpful in getting freight out of PGH at a cheaper rate, especially on the south shore.
