Love this version! I wonder why Alex never made a solo career or a long-term collaboration with other musicians. He should collab with Graham in a few songs at least since they have such a good playing chemistry and admire each other. C'mon Alex, leave the cheese one second and make great music again. Don't wait till Damon call you again! 😅

He was an intriguing bassist and it sucks he didn't really traverse much through the music landscape after Blur. What little he did do was not very good.

"10 billion light years wide...either side..." sounds like a lightning seeds song, can't quite put my finger on it.

Possibly a weird tangent, but one thing I love about this version of the song is that for all Graham had a tendency to be disparaging about Alex at the time (attitude-wise, though never musically), he's clearly gone out of his way in terms of arrangement, guitar parts and backing vocals to make this song sound really bloody good. (They loved each other really - awww....)

Hearing this version after hearing the album version really pumps me up. It's not the same without knowing how it was originally released to the public.

Never heard this version of Far Out. Actually the original album version is much more majestic, more psychedelic, and better in my opinion. I was a bit surprised at Alex's singing ability though and like how they rocked it up for this alternate version. Quite good. Too bad the Beagle is dead. 50 million pounds? Wow!
