Nice enough review but the sped up butter making part has obvious cuts & not one piece of clean unedited footage & so I'm wondering if you did add anything which makes the butter 'better' ? I've yet to chose a new FP after killing my old Kenwood motor trying to make cherryripe, an Australian classic chocolate bar like bounty but with addition of cherries, I feel this machine is up to the task but really want a blender too for soup & smoothies...
@TheFromScratchBody6 күн бұрын
I’d be totally happy to do an unedited video of me making nut butter, I just don’t know who’d want to watch it 🤣🤣 nothing added at all! The longer you run the nuts in the Magimix the smoother it becomes. I’ve done peanut, cashew and almond many times and it never disappoints! It would definitely do the job you describe, but yes - for soups and smoothies a blender is definitely great to have too.

Hi Liv, Thanks for your lovely video causing me to purchase a Magimix cook expert. I've seen Chicken liver Pate recipes for the Magimix Food Processor online, and can't help wondering whether it can be made in one go in the metal bowl of the Cook Expert, rather than precooking it in another pan and then blending it in the food processor. Have you come across this at all please?

Hi, thank you for watching and for the comment! I looked up the recipe you mention and yes I would definitely give the whole process a go in the CE. With all the temperature and time control you have with it, it should absolutely be possible. Great thinking! I’d love to know how you get on, I’ve never made any pate in it myself!

Just ordered one of these. Bought a Kenwood less than a year ago and the motor gave up at 6 months. They gave me another and the motor broke again after another 3 months. (I did not abuse or overfill the machine) The 30 year motor guarantee is what attracted me to this Would never buy a kenwood again, even though this was over £100 more expensive. Nothing worse than an appliance breaking when you are half way through!

Thank you so much for the comment, glad you love the channel! I think it can be possible to do plant milk in it, personally I use my blender for it but I think it should be doable… I’d maybe just blitz the dry stuff (whether it’s oats or nuts) first and then slowly add water and any other ingredients if using! Let me know how you get on!

I tried the code with the CE, it didn't take anything off. I didn't try with the red processor. It might be because it's the CE, or it might be because they're on clearance offer and I can't have both. I thought that extra discount might just persuade me to get the CE 😂

I know that they loved marzipan in Shakespeare's time - however did they make it then? There were no food processors around! I suppose they chopped up the almonds, but that must have been difficult and very time-consuming! We should count our blessings, how modern appliances have made our lives so much easier.

Was wondering how does one decide to upgrade to 1300W model from the current 1000W model?
@TheFromScratchBody3 ай бұрын
Good question - so do you have a 1000W at the moment? Do you feel like there’s anything it can’t do that a slightly more powerful motor could do? I guess it depends what you use it for and how you feel yours is performing! 💕
@socencounter3 ай бұрын
@@TheFromScratchBody Actually the opposite, I was using a 1300W one but couldn't feel the need for that extra power, so sent it over to a friend and currently waiting for the 1000W model to be delivered. My workload only requires the mill attachment; typically limited to grinding whole black pepper, dry ginger or nutmeg & was a bit concerned if the 1000W model couldn't do the job!? xD

@@TheFromScratchBody Thank you for the answer! So I had a question for you: If you do a dry run with your blender to setting "4" and keep the "PULSE" pressed, do you notice that it takes a few seconds (grim sound) before the blade starts to slowly spin? I found the same on the newer models of both 1000W and 1300W which is a pity. On my 5 year old 1300W old model when you touch the "PULSE", the blade spins instantly at full speed at once with a lot of power. This makes me think that on the newer models they might have reduced the "Torque" on that setting or is now using additional gears to achieve the same Torque which explains the delay in startup. Thoughts? :)

Granola: mixing all the ingredients by hand in a big bowl takes literraly 30 seconds for a batch that'll last me a whole week. Pancakes: Milk, eggs, flower...no idea why you'd need a blender for that instead of just a stand mixer? There's nothing to actually cut/shred? Nutbutter & sauces: I'll have to give it try, tnks for the tip :)
@TheFromScratchBody4 ай бұрын
You cut a batch of nuts in 30 seconds? Your knife skills are better than mine I think (not that it takes much to be honest 🤣)! I do granola by hand too quite regularly to be fair! But it does take me longer for sure. For pancakes it’s more of a practical thing, for the big jug I’ve then got it mixed in the jug I pour from, with nothing else to clean, and if I blend in the big blend cup and do a batch I can then just pop that cup in the fridge with the lid, again no extra cleanup. But yes you are right, can of course be done with a stand mixer or even just by hand! Let me know how you fare with the nut butter! 💪🏼💕

There are quite a few reports that the magimix expert falls short of the thermomix when turning seeds etc in to flour. Is this still the case? Or have they overcome that problem? I’m still deciding on which product to go with… also you mention you have kept that piece from an earlier processor (sorry forgotten what you called it) but it keeps the ingredient away from the sides of the bowl. I’m thinking that may sort the problem with milling better.? Also can that piece be purchased separately if they aren’t supplying it? Many thanks 😊
@TheFromScratchBody6 ай бұрын
I definitely think milling is where it could improve a lot. I can’t compare as I’ve not got a Thermomix and haven’t tried, but yes although the BlenderMix helps, and you do get flour from nuts etc, smaller things like seeds are hard to mill!

Just tried out my brand new Magimix 3 blender and feeling really disappointed. I hoped to achieve a smooth sauce like dressing for a bowl of chopped veg salad and instead got a very porridge like consistency as it just didn't have enough power to turn the ingredients (basil, vinegar, tofu, can of cannellini beans) into a smooth sauce or was I doing something wrong? I don't have any of the small bowls due to the exorbitant extra price but maybe that is what I need. Like someone mentioned below all the ingridients were pushed up and not liquidised. Feels like a lot of money down the drain. Have I made a mistake in not buying a nutribullet?
